HI EVERYONE!!! - I'm new here..
Please only kind answers. IS there any way I can apply to WDW for a permanent Job role? I know there are Disney College Programs etc however, I am a single Mother to a 7-year-old. So for me, I can not up-route for a year and then come back to England. And it has always been my lifetime goal/dream to live out in Florida, AND work in Disney World. Is there any courses I can do that will get me a skill to make it possible to land a Job as a Cast-Member at WDW? The only experience I have is Customer Service work previously. Other than that I have no degrees. I am serious about this move and achieving what is my ultimate goal, so if I need to take a course to gain skill & knowledge of some kind that would help assist I would do so?
Is it at ALL possible?

Thank you so much,
x

There's the international program. Someone who has done it or knows people in it may have more info on it and whether there are any longterm positions within it.

But the very real life practical assessment is making sure you understand that a majority of jobs at WDW do not pay a living wage? You may not even get full time hours unless you're willing to take something they are desperate for like housekeeping. And again, even then, it's not the kind of money that will support your family unless you have financial stability going into the job. They are mostly entry-level wages and housing is getting more expensive in Florida by the day.

Can you subsist on $15/hour, maybe 20-30 hours a week with no guarantee of job security or advancement, and still pay $2000/month for an apartment in a safe neighborhood for you and your child (along with first and last month's rent up front), plus food, health insurance, etc.? If the answer is no, then you may have to wait as many people do and make Disney your retirement job rather than a career.

Since you're in the UK, have you considered Disneyland Paris? At least it's closer to home for you and would involve less uprooting for you and your child. But I would presume you're still not likely to find much there either beyond entry level without a managerial level skill set and previous job experience.

Sometimes, dreams have to wait while we pay the bills. Sad but true.

Hi there,

Thank you for replying to this. I really appreciate it. And really appreciate the truths about it. I really did not think it was such underpaid work?
Yeah, definitely kind of made me realise I didn't think about it correctly.

Thank you anyway
