Hey guys,

my wife and I arrive in Orlando this Wednesday from the UK. I was hoping to be lazy on the Thursday morning and not shave if the barber shop on Main St offers a wet shave as part of their service? Also if they do, does anyone know how much they charge for it

Thanks in advance

I wouldn't think so. The liability insurance on something like that has to be very high. I don't think they do shaves like the old barbershops at the time. just haircuts but I may be wrong.

Well, you can always meet me at the TTC and I can try it with my pocket knife. Do you feel lucky???

Seriously though...I doubt they would even do that at the salons and spas on property. But who knows...

I can still get a straight-razor shave here in Ottawa, I don't see why there would be any added liability issues.

Well, there might be if he meets me at the TTC. It would be my first time attempting it with my pocket knife and my hand is a little shakey these days!

My dad is a barber, has been for 35 years, and he won't even do a straight razor shave anymore..it's becoming very uncommon to find someone who does, so I wouldn't think that you could at disney.

If you are looking for the ultimate shave you can go to the Carrs Barbershop in Celebration or one of their other Orlando location. It's a traditional barbershop and they offer their signature shave. I haven't gotten one myself, but I see others doing it while I'm getting my haircut and it is quite a production. They steam your face and then go after it with the straight razor. It's a little pricey though.

The Harmony Barber Shop is located on the left as you enter the Magic Kingdom, past City Hall, tucked in between the "car barn" and the Emporium.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week. No appointments -- walk-ins only.

Cost for a haircut is $17 for adults and $14 for children 12 and under. Colored hair gel, $5. Beard and mustache trims are $10.

Other spots for a haircut around Walt Disney World (these places take appointments):

--Contemporary Resort: American Beauty Shoppe and Captain's Chair, 407-824-3411
--Coronado Springs Resort: Casa de Belleza (House of Beauty), 407-939-3965
--Grand Floridian Resort & Spa: Ivy Trellis, 407-824-2581
--Yacht and Beach Club: Periwig's, 407-934-3260

Rarely do I actually ROFLMAO! but this truly had me in "giggle mode" for a long time.
