Hi All!

I love to look at all the beautiful photos you all take at WDW. I try to take great shots too in the evening or dimly lit interiors at WDW and they never come out nice. On one setting I can get the colors accurate but it is blurry. On the other setting it is way too dark or too bright. I currently have a Kodak Easy Share CX7530 that I have had for many years. I would like to get a new digital camera (like one of those really small & thin ones) before our next trip. Any suggestions? Any of you great photo takers care to share what camera you use?

Thanks bunches!! :)

My husband and I got a new digital camera this Spring and we love it! We get a lot of compliments on the quality of photos that it takes. It's called the Olympus Stylus 7000.

The main reason we got it was for the big zoom. Our old camera barely zoomed in. This one has a 7x zoom, and it's great. We also got it because it had a bigger screen too.

There's a few really cool features too. There is a fireworks setting and it works really well. There's also a candlelight setting that I think works the best at night. It's nice to finally have a camera that can take pictures at night.

Also, it has a feature where the camera won't click until the subject smiles. So you could set the camera on a tripod, or another object, and pose with people. It will go off when you smile. Very neat feature I thought.

My husband got a free kodak easy share from our cable company a few years ago. He thought it would be fun to take it to disney as his own personal camera. I hate it! It takes horrible pictures. Really one in five maybe turns out ok. It could be the operator since I'm normally the one taking the pictures, but even I don't like taking pics with it.

I have used a sony and a canon point and shoot in the past. I liked both of them. The canon had really nice colors. I'm sure you'll get better advice from the camera experts on here, but I just wanted to let you know that you're not alone in your dislike for the kodak.

Canon Digital Elph 880 IS. Is very compact, and takes amazing pictures, with superb color depth, AND it will only set you back anywhere from 230-280 dollars.

A quick comment on night/dark shots. There are two ways to get pictures in low light. Either a fast camera that will shoot in high ISO, I.E. 16000, or using a tripod. Most high ISO's start to show heavy noise unless you get a very very high end model. Using a tripod/trashcan/something else is the easiest and cheapest way to get rid of blur in night shots. Most likely when you are using your current camera to take night shots, it is compensating for the lack of light by keeping the shutter open for longer. And unless you are made of stone, your arm will move slightly, causing the blur. Using a mini tripod, resting the camera on a trashcan or table, something like that eliminate the movement in the arm yielding a much clearer image. To a point, it's not the camera, but rather the photographer and the technique. Some great pictures are taken using old/low end equipment, the photographer just knows how to use that equipment to its best.

My husband bought me a canon powershot last year from christmas. My mom used the same camera at our wedding and her pictures actually came out so much better than our $3000.00 photograhers pictures!!!! So I would highly recommed this camera it has all diffrent setting on it...fireworks, sunsets, nighttime, portraits, snow, aquaruim...I could go on and on..If I knew how I would upload some pictures to show you the quality of the prints...It is inexpensive and really easy to use. Happy shopping!
