Is this new, or is it the same basic set they've had for at least a few years? The Polynesian must at least be new, but I think I saw the Contemporary last time I was there.

I kept picking it up, putting it down, picking it up, putting it down. My biggest problem is I don't have any place to set it up without my wife complaining.

Just sell your wife, and keep the monorail. :animwink:

There's an idea. Would anyone like to purchase a used wife?
High miles, but still runs and looks great. . .(that should do it. I have a feeling she'll be gone by the time I get home now.)

same set, new buildings. I am going to set it up at first to play with it and then put it away until Christmas when I will set it up around the Christmas tree at my parents house.

Make sure and give her a good clean and put a new pine tree air freshner, and she'll sell no problem.

I am going to order the TTC like thingie that makes noises and the Polynesian after I get the basic set and the Contep. Resort.

The whole set that they have at Once Upon a Toy would cost about $728.00, so I still have a ways to go.

We bought the Monorail during our last visit...and yesterday, I ordered the Castle, the 3 hotels...the TTC...the Dumbo ride and the Teacups..and some extra track...came to around $250 but I will put it away for Santa...the shipping was $15.95 but there is no tax so that balances out...

...as much as that sounds like a lot of money to spend, I'd gladly spend this for the monorail set rather than those blasted pieces of metal they call "Pins."

..Is there a catalog or a website that I can go visit to see what the other pieces look like?

At Christmas time the Disney Store Catalogue sells some of it but go through Disney World Mail order (no sales tax). Either e-mail them with my link or call them. They can get you almost anything they sell at Disney World. You might find photos of them on www.ebay.com

I spent about $100 on pins in 2001. The table that the monorail toy and other stuff is on at OUAT is 12' x 12' and to hook up all the attractions you need 7 Attractions Connectors.

...I wish I had seen this BEFORE I ordered...I wanted to get the Astro Orbitor...

...help...what are the attraction connectors...don't they come with the attractions?....sheeesh...

..also...they call the TTC a 'switch station'...so there's no confusion..

LOL

The Astro Orbitor is cool.

The attractions connectors hook up to your attractions and your track. When a monorail goes over this part of the track it starts the ride. You can set it to run for as long as you like.

And yes the "TTC" is called a "switch station" because it is ment to switch between up to 3 diff. beams.

Here is what someone on ebay wrote about the connector and here is a pic. of the box.

"Get ready to link up and activate your attraction toys! This monorail column will allow you to link up one toy to the monorail track and every time the Monorail passes that attraction, it will run for the length of time you select. Toys that can be linked and activated include the classics Dumbo, the Flying Elephant; Astro Orbiter; and the Mad Tea Party. Exciting new attractions from Disney's California Adventure can also be linked, including Orange Stinger, Golden Zephyr, King Triton's Carousel, and Sun Wheel."

Thanks for the info...back to the phone...maybe I can add these things to yesterday's order...

...I wish the monorail was electric....I still have my old Lionel trains from the 50s that I set up with the Dept 56 villages every Christmas...the trains run like they were brand new...
...wonder if there's some sort of adapter for them...the display at Once Upon a Toy had the attractions running on electric to avoid the need to constantly replace the batteries.
