I'm working attractions as part of my CP, I'll be down there mid-Janruary through mid-May. I am very excited and just wanted to see if anybody had any tips or advice.

Also, I was wondering what to expect for my role? What duties, training, experience etc should I expect?

It all depends on the attraction you are assigned to I was assigned mostly to Fantasmic/ HSM, Parade so my responsibilities were loading the theatre, dealing with strollers, speiling, making sure people didn't run in front of floats during parade and doing pactivities with children while they were waiting for parade, which is very different from Rock n Roller coaster, were you are checking heights at the entrance, checking safety restraints, working control panels, loading guests and having to occassionally pass over the tracks.

I was a Cast Member in Fantasyland running Small World, Peter Pan, Car, Arial, etc. Training takes about a week then your on your own. Its pretty easy and the work is as fun and entertaining as you make it!

Have fun, ask questions and think about extending until Aug! You are going to miss the Summer!

I'm headed down this January too for attractions! I requested MK and specifically HM, adventureland, or fronteirland in my interview.

I worked attractions at DAK for a year. Attractions really runs the gammut when it comes to things you could possibly be doing. As a CP you will more than likely only be working on attraction (there are a few exceptions). I started out working at Dinosaur: The Ride which is 4 days of training and an assessment day. Most attractions run anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks or more in some of the spiel roles such as Safari. In my area, unless you extended, CP's didn't have the chance to cross-train, but I know there are lands that work differently. If you are interested you would have to talk to management and know most require at least 3 months in your original location before they even think about cross-trains. Some rides can be very technical while others are less intensive. Attractions usually has a high number of young people working them and you'll most likely be working with a few other CP's which can be nice. Hours really depend, but CP's usually get the closing shifts. Attractions, even though it can get boring, is a really fun role and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I'm currently working at Toy Story Mania for Fall 2009. There were 3 days of training, then an assessment day. It's not too bad here (though it can get crazy, as it's pretty busy). There are a lot of positions to work at, so it's nice being able to rotate around.
