I remember in fourth grade, we studied California missions and the Gold Rush the entire year. We took a trip to a mission (can't remember which one) and I remember loving it. Looks I'm due for another trip.

I took this photo from the entrance of my housing building in college. The ocean is Catalina Island, and the closer, surrounding areas are the Santa Monica mountains (yes, my school is located in the mountains) and residential homes:

This is the Palace Theatre on Broadway in Downtown Los Angeles, one of many old movie palaces on the block. The theatre is still used and was featured in Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video:

The Palace, specifically the upper section towards the roof is used for Olivia Pope's office in ABC's Scandal. A green screen is used for the background to depict Washington D.C./the White House.
