I’m hoping that they are reconsidering the concept. Was this a Chapek gem?

If the landlord is getting paid, why would they care?Is Disney fine it’s taking this long for a vendor to develop this property?
Because it’s Disney and they’re likely missing out on their cut of gross revenuesIf the landlord is getting paid, why would they care?

If that were the case it would make no sense to delay. They certainly don't have an unlimited time of reduced rent for construction and their construction loans will be accruing interest.Maybe they figured out, they are not going to make as much money as they thought with that location.
The owner of Gideons is a friend of a friend. The most hands-on landlords often do have deadlines for tenants to meet or they'll pay a penalty (often daily) for missing it. I'm sure if there was a deadline, it has been negotiated back.
Is the Disney company so inept that they cant even have a cake shop built in under 1 year ? I understand the complexity of taking 5 years to build an extremely complex attraction such as Journey of water ( Takes years to pour out the water and see where it goes ) but I draw the line at delaying the Cake Bake Shop at Boardwalk. Thoughts please?
Apparently they are. Someone posted on Facebook their view, which looked right at the construction.Disney would care more if the wing of rooms that overlook this construction room are sitting empty. Do we know if these rooms are in use?
There is a Sonic being built across the street from my workplace. They broke ground two years ago, and are nowhere near finished. And every Sonic Drive-In I have ever seen is nearly identical. Really makes Disney's pace seem reasonable. There was a Bibibop restaurant near me that took nearly a year to complete. And this was their 30-something restaurant opened so you would think they would just cut/paste the design from one place into the next. And a Turkey Hill gas station/car wash near me took over a year and a half to build.
So after watching those two projects, Disney construction timelines don't seem so long any more. Apparently it takes a long to build anything.
