Cake Bake Shop Madness

3rd party with no rent concerns or not I can’t believe Disney is thrilled with a vacancy that has no time horizon in such a high profile location. I’m sure that they have control features built into the land lease

The most hands-on landlords often do have deadlines for tenants to meet or they'll pay a penalty (often daily) for missing it. I'm sure if there was a deadline, it has been negotiated back.

Nursey Rhymes about baking cakes as fast as they can are written due to inept such as this.

Disney greed will not have their cake and eat it too.

The owner of Gideons is a friend of a friend.

That place prints cash, which would be fantastic except they’re still on a payment plan with Disney to get through all the penalties from the construction and opening delays.

Is the Disney company so inept that they cant even have a cake shop built in under 1 year ? I understand the complexity of taking 5 years to build an extremely complex attraction such as Journey of water ( Takes years to pour out the water and see where it goes ) but I draw the line at delaying the Cake Bake Shop at Boardwalk. Thoughts please?

Maybe ask The Cake Bake Shop folks.

Disney would care more if the wing of rooms that overlook this construction room are sitting empty. Do we know if these rooms are in use?
Apparently they are. Someone posted on Facebook their view, which looked right at the construction.

(I did not see the post, a family member did, so I don't have a screenshot.)

There's no way this place makes it with the square footage they'll have and the amount of product they'll have to sell. Cake slice pricing start at $15. Kids buttered noodles are $12. You can sub out the argula leaves that comes with a sandwich but it's a $6 upcharge for chips on the side. BUT you can order chips a la carte as a side for $5. 😄 When they have to increase pricing because Disney it's going to be nuts.

Disney probably doesn't really care because when this fails Disney will have a gorgeous space to take over. And if I'm wrong and this is successful then Disney will enjoy the cash influx. Disney won't lose here.

There was a Bibibop restaurant near me that took nearly a year to complete. And this was their 30-something restaurant opened so you would think they would just cut/paste the design from one place into the next. And a Turkey Hill gas station/car wash near me took over a year and a half to build.

So after watching those two projects, Disney construction timelines don't seem so long any more. Apparently it takes a long to build anything.

There is a Sonic being built across the street from my workplace. They broke ground two years ago, and are nowhere near finished. And every Sonic Drive-In I have ever seen is nearly identical. Really makes Disney's pace seem reasonable.
