Trip Report C’mon Everybody, Here We Go….*COMPLETED*

Think of all the joy you’ll find
When you leave the world behind
And bid your cares goodbye!

Ahh, a relaxing getaway from reality. No cares or concerns. Just bliss.

Not exactly a perfect picture of vacationing at Walt Disney World during Spring Break, is it?

But we’re going anyway. We’re Spring Break Veterans and it’s time for the annual reunion.

Two years ago we missed out on our usual adventure thanks to Covid. The stay-at-home vacation just wasn’t the same! (Although you can read about it here: https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/the-“no-trip”-trip-report-completed.964173/)

Last year we were able to return, albeit under Covid protocols. We believed that enduring masks 24/7, plexiglass and vinyl dividers on attractions, mobile order Door Nazis and limited shopping/dining/entertainment would be acceptable in exchange for the very low crowds that we’d experienced on earlier pandemic trips. But the parks were packed and we ended up spending a lot of time at the pool (which wasn’t a bad thing. We’re pool people.)

Now that park capacity has increased and nearly all Covid restrictions are gone, we expect to find the shoulder-to-shoulder spring break crowds of yore. And long lines. So we’re packing our patience and “It is what it is” attitudes.

Because in spite of all the negatives WDW is still our happy place.

We can’t wait.

Who: Tuvalu and Em
When: April 3-9, 2022
Where: Our favorite moderate resort

My plan is to go live upon our departure. Fingers crossed that Disney WiFi will be my friend.

Speaking of friends, we hope to meet up with a few. You’ll have to follow along to see if we do.

So there are people younger than 60 who live in that area….(just kidding, of course!) Thanks for reading.

For you, Enzo, no gifs in this reply.
Really appreciative of your patient sacrifice in enduring my gif game. I have fun with it, but I know that not everyone shares my enthusiasm.
I am touched that you still follow along.
And I hope you have an amazing vacation!

I’ll try to get in a few more POFQ pictures for you!

Em and I agreed Slinky was worth the wait! (It’s also a lovely day with a nice breeze. Our answer may have been different had it been 100% summer humidity!)

Then STOP and enjoy your surroundings! 😉

Em was flattered by your comment. She just visited her stylist on Saturday and is glad to know it was money well spent!

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’ve taken a screenshot of my resort info in case I need it tomorrow!
Hahaha belly laugh! We’ll catch up tomorrow! 🤣

I’m really enjoying reading about your trip, but what did Em buy?!

And does she have any good (but reasonably priced) Disney themed teacher gifts for the lovely folks who try to cram knowledge into the head of my 4th grader? He has 4 main teachers.
Actually Em was the Sherpa who hauled my purchases ~ birthday gifts for Tuvaleen (turning 4!) and her mom, gifts for Woody since he can’t be here, and two close-out pieces of Em’s dinnerware (which she’ll receive at a later date 😉.)

Em’s favorite teacher gifts to receive are Disney gift cards. She loves to combine them and splurge on things for herself!

Kiddo gifts are the best! What are the Tuvatinys into lately? DD4 is all unicorn princess and anything that glitters.

GOOD MORNING!!
I told you I'd keep up with this! Although, still a week to go and I'm very easily distracted. 🤩
Let’s just say we have only stayed in this building once….on an extended family trip with many unfortunate medical situations. It began with an 11 pm call to 911 for my infant nephew who was having difficulty breathing. My brother’s family was in the room on the other side of this connecting door.
MY goodness, what an adventure. I am so glad everyone was okay on your trip and the breathing situation was resolved quickly.
Having a drink with this cutie.
I ADORE J! And his adults! @riverside
However this CM is giving away beignet samples…
The PERFECT way to dessert! Good planning! 🤩 And budgeting.
And no fighting the crowds!!

*Room channel 74, if anyone is interested
What a treat.
Both pizzas are hot and freshly prepared. I had to wait several minutes for them after I got to the pick up station. We sit and lunch, enjoying our prime people-watching location.
We ate at Pizza Rizzo for the first time last year and really enjoyed it. I found the pizza a good value (I don't know about the not-topped-off $4 soda, though). Maybe they don't top it off because they know you have to carry it far..... I mean, THEY GET THE SYRUP for FREE from Coke!:bored:

Yes, please! This teacher of littles LOVES TuvaTiny updates! When do they get to go back?

Also, as a teacher, I wholeheartedly agree that Disney gift cards are my favorite!

Tuvalette starts kindergarten in the fall and is already reading (as was her dad before he started school.) She adores puzzles (the 500-1,000 piece ones!) and Legos.

Tuvaleen is a free spirit who loves to sing and dance and play. Both girls are in ballet and this grandma cannot wait for their recital in June!

Betcha can’t guess where dinner is.

Another clue.

Should be easy now.

Why can I see so clearly into the other side of the restaurant?

The plexiglass dividers have been removed!

Another sign of normalcy? The Kitchen Sink attention-getting spotlights and the banter of “a WHOLE CAN” of whipped cream is back for guest enjoyment.

Em has loaded tots. “They’re basically American nachos,” she declares.

Once again I am that “difficult” patron who doesn’t order something on the menu. Rather, I make substitutions and modifications (“I want the burger toppings, but not the burger. I want grilled chicken, not the ranch chicken. Brioche bun, not multigrain.”)

Our server obliges and I tip her well.

Em requests Beaches and Cream because as most of you know, she’s a No Way José fanatic. But (unlike @Loco_driver) she cannot ever finish the entire sundae. I won’t share with her because frankly, peanut butter does not belong on ice cream. (Marshmallow on the other hand….)

Em decides to create her own smaller version of the No Way José. (Why is this not a menu option?) Two scoops of ice cream instead of 3, and minus the chocolate & peanut butter chips.

She still can’t finish it. I can’t finish my sundae either. Mouth wants to, but stomach says NO.

Y’all can see WDW is not about the rides for us. We hit three headliners at DHS and that was enough for today. Our greatest joys are found in experiencing things “in the world” most would consider a waste of time and money.

We have a great evening.

Isn’t that what a vacation is all about?

Absolutely!
Happy to see you're having a great time and making new memories, together. Enjoy!

Sad that we missed each other by just one day!, wish I could've given you and Em a big hug. Here's hoping for a next time (soon), my friend. 😊

I would like to remind you that you and Em ate at Beaches and Cream exactly a year ago. And I had the pleasure of joining you!

Can’t believe we ate there on the same day a year ago! (Wait….yes I can…we are creatures of habit! 🤣) It would have been nice to have you with us this time too.

Your picture shows the plexiglass divider which is now gone. Thanks for posting the evidence. 😉
