Trip Report C’mon Everybody, Here We Go….*COMPLETED*

Think of all the joy you’ll find
When you leave the world behind
And bid your cares goodbye!

Ahh, a relaxing getaway from reality. No cares or concerns. Just bliss.

Not exactly a perfect picture of vacationing at Walt Disney World during Spring Break, is it?

But we’re going anyway. We’re Spring Break Veterans and it’s time for the annual reunion.

Two years ago we missed out on our usual adventure thanks to Covid. The stay-at-home vacation just wasn’t the same! (Although you can read about it here: https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/the-“no-trip”-trip-report-completed.964173/)

Last year we were able to return, albeit under Covid protocols. We believed that enduring masks 24/7, plexiglass and vinyl dividers on attractions, mobile order Door Nazis and limited shopping/dining/entertainment would be acceptable in exchange for the very low crowds that we’d experienced on earlier pandemic trips. But the parks were packed and we ended up spending a lot of time at the pool (which wasn’t a bad thing. We’re pool people.)

Now that park capacity has increased and nearly all Covid restrictions are gone, we expect to find the shoulder-to-shoulder spring break crowds of yore. And long lines. So we’re packing our patience and “It is what it is” attitudes.

Because in spite of all the negatives WDW is still our happy place.

We can’t wait.

When: April 3-9, 2022

Our mobile order window has opened for lunch.

I push “I’m here” and receive the notification for pick up in about two minutes! Mobile ordering has worked surprisingly great this week.

Em and I want to take advantage of the gorgeous weather and opt to dine al fresco.

Em picks Pinocchio’s because she is intrigued by one of the flatbread offerings. Sounds like it has potential to me as well, but we don’t want to fully commit and order two in case one (or both) of us don’t care for it.

So we decide to order a pepperoni flatbread and the roasted street corn flatbread and share.

Em likes this, but it’s too sweet for me. We leave two slices of the roasted corn and one slice of the pepperoni.

The ambiance is definitely our favorite part of the meal!

We’ve ridden six attractions. We’ve already tied our record for the week.

No need to push ourselves when the pool is calling.

Em says we need to make a stop before leaving.

“Dad needs one of those peanut butter cookie pies.” (Oh he does, does he?)

60030BC9-053F-4809-94EC-05CDAA917494.jpeg

We start a mobile order. I want a cake pop to take home. Em wants a Mickey Krispie treat. We find both easily on the app. But unlike yesterday, there isn’t a peanut butter cookie pie in the selections.

We do a double take. We scroll through all the choices. Twice.

No PBCP. Are they out?

I ask a CM behind the counter in the center of the store. “Oh, we’ve got them. How many do you want?”

“Two,” I reply. Turns out she takes orders from walk-ups who don’t mobile order. She electronically sends the order to a CM in the back, prints out a receipt, and I take the receipt to another counter, pay, and receive the bagged sweets.

Point of the story: If something you want isn’t listed among the mobile order selections, ASK!

Em’s ready for a taste of her Mickey Krispie.

We can hear the (truncated) Festival of Fantasy coming down Main Street. Lots of folks are waiting in Town Square.

Em and I stay to watch the parade.

The princess float leads, with Belle, Cinderella, Tiana and Elsa.

My husband loves the pepperoni flatbreads here! I love the ambiance!
Quiz time.

Anyone know the specific location of this door?
????????????????? I'm guessing in one of the alleys on Main Street?

YES! This has worked well for me in my non-WDW life, but I will remember to ask if I don't see the pbcookie the next time I'm in!

This is also a shot with my friend Daisy. 🤩 🤩 🤩 😍 😍 :geek: :geek: I hope the TuvaTiny's still love her!

Em heads out to the pool before I do. In my rush to join her, I make an unfortunate mistake.

My nose is sun-sensitive. I use either an SPF 50 face stick or SPF 50 lotion on it when lounging in the sun. This week I’ve been using the lotion. Except for today….but more on that in a moment.

More pool pics for @Wicked Sisters.

The serpent is so long, his tail is outside the pool gate.

With the cooler temperatures today, fewer folks are taking the plunge!

It is so pleasant that we don’t realize how long we sit sunning.

And the spots missed while applying sunscreen get a little burnt.

As for my nose?

Red Nose Christmas GIF

I’d accidentally applied SPF 50 lip balm to it. Doesn’t do the job as well as a face stick. Or lotion. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I absolutely loved your day at MK and I was amazed at all the attractions you were able to get on!!! I wonder what time SDMT actually got back up and running this day??? I loved your lunch view from Pinocchio Haus. Your treats from The Main Street Confectionary Shop look delectable and I'm glad Woody enjoyed his PB treat so much. The pool time this last day certainly was the perfect way to end the trip (less the burnt nose). I truly enjoy sharing along on your live TR's Tuvalu! 🥰
