Walking out the door to go to the airport. Ready for anything! I don't have that feeling of helplessness, because, even if the weather is ickey, I will be there to help. I hated being so far away during Charlie. I wanted to help. My parents have been through many storms down there, and they are not worried. If we do make it to Disney, I will take lots of pictures.

Have a great trip and put the hurricane to the back of your mind! The worse thing that might happen is that they will close the parks and you'll become part of Disney History!

Florida Governor Jeb Bush has asked people not to travel to the state during this time. Be sure to take good care of yourself![/QUOTE

Last I heard, Frances is still stalled about 25 miles offshore. Been like that since around 2pm. So now all the timetables have been pushed back at least 24 hours until the storm starts moving again. I feel sorry for those over on the east coast because they're just getting pounded by the wind and rain since the storm isn't moving. There's going to major flooding over there as a result.

Just sitting here at Pop Century

We are just sitting here in our room at Pop Century. Every so often we get a little squal of rain and wind. We are asked to stay in our rooms till the storm passes. Hopefully it will pick up speed (not the winds, just move in and out of the state) and move through the area overnight.

Kinda makes you feel helpless, doesn't it. We are just sitting and waiting, here in Tampa.
I'm just sitting, waiting in my apartment on the other side of the bay from you in Pinellas county. Hope you're doing well. We'll be experiencing on-again/off-again storms from the squalls for the next 24 hours or so.

just a little update for all of you not living in florida or in a hotel and such, i live in lakeland (right between orlando and tampa and right in the path of the eye). the storm wind wise isnt as bad as charlie but at the speed the storm is moving it is a major flood threat. but from what i have seen out my front window i think it is about the same. and best of wishes for those of u who still have to be hit by the storm. and ps kwit35 hopefully the storm will be far enough in the gulf that tampa international ( or any airport u are taking) will be open, and the storm will be far enough away.
