I think that it would really hurt their attendance if they closed big thunder for awile. Who wants to go on rides that were closed. That's why they were closed in the first place because no one wants to go on them.

That doesn't makes since seen Splash Mountain is down until the beginning of February, why would they close down two of their biggest rides at the same time. I think it won't be for a awile if they do close it down for rehab.

Prepare to see SPACE MOUNTAIN to the max. This will possibly happen since it's a fact than when a Mountain closes, the other two are more crowded. In this case two of them will close, so it'll be that nice to wait in line for SM soooo much.

If they have no choice (meaning thunder mountain has mechanical problems) they will have to...trust me..they didnt plan it that way.

They could have postponed the Splash Mountain rehab if Big Thunder is in need of mechanical repair. I think it would be pretty bogus to have two of the biggest attractions in the park closed down at the same time and of course still charge the same admission price. I can't imagine what that would do to crowd flow. I don't see it happening.

Well...Splash mountain was already drained and prepped for rehab before the Thunder Mountain problems start occuring..so they didnt exactly PLAN all of this to happen.

I'm pretty sure there was talk about Big Thunder going down for repairs BEFORE Jan 6 when Splash Mountain actually closed.

Big Thunder's problems have escalated a lot recently. I don't remember hearing about it closing for half the day over christmas break. It was up for extensive rehab, but the plan had been to wait until after Splash re-opened in a month (they would rather have a rehabed splash open for the peak season and have big thunder closed from Feb-June than have a nasty splash open for the next four months while they rehab big thunder). Call it procrastinating...now they are kinda in trouble. I wonder if there's a temporary "quick-fix" until Splash re-opens. I mean...if it's the lift hill chain that needs to be replaced, they could do that relatively easily. Of course, if the ride is physically unsafe, then they don't have a choice--but I don't think that's the case--they wouldn't keep trying to open it for the afternoon if it were...both mountains closed makes Frontierland kinda useless...just go through adventureland, see the Country Bears, and it's on to Liberty Square!

Big Thunder was working fine yesterday.

Plus the crowds were so light even with Splash Closed Big Thunder was barley over 20 minutes and Space was only about a 15 minute wait at 2pm.

Now that's a piece of good news! (I'm heading down in 25 days)
