BWV QUESTIONS

I have a reservation booked for Saratoga, but want to move it to Boardwalk soon when it comes to the 7 month window....

I was looking at the different studio options.

I know what the Boardwalk view will be, and can figure out the pool/garden view....

Can anyone tell me what the Standard View is?

I have stayed at BWV before - loved it - but had a 1 BR with Boardwalk view... now need to work out rooms for friends.....

Thanks in advance -

I would doubt that a 1br with standard view will be available at the 7 month window. We couldn't get one 10.5 months out during the F&W.
if you are lucky it will be a view of the car park are the front area of the resort.

The standard views at the Boardwalk are decent. There is also a chance you could get a view of the lake where boats travel between Swan and Dolphin and the Studios which is always nice. - BeachclubBubsie <3 BCVTalsJam x

I, and my family, stay at BWV and WLV and speaking with them I have found that none of us have ever really taken the time to 'take in the view'. Usually we just check to see what the weather is since we spend all of our time in the parks each visit. The rooms are for sleeping and getting ready to go to one of the parks.

Boardwalk Villas does not disappoint. We were lucky enough to get a Epcot view on the upper floor looking over the little courtyard toward the water directly at SSE, above the Wyland Gallery area. Great location, but just about anywhere there is good.

Thanks for the info!!

I was able to secure a 1 BR and a 2 BR lockoff both with Garden or Pool views for the times I wanted.

We are just happy to be able to stay at BWV again...now the rest of the planning can start!

Congrats! Lucky indeed. Though I agree I think I am happy when I get the opportunity to stay there as well....Enjoy the planning...

The last year or so I've had trouble booking Boardwalk like I used to, no matter what size villa I request. We usually book last minute, but that hasn't changed. We always end up at Saratoga or Old Key West, and sometimes Bay Lake. I'm wondering if they don't have the entire resort open for some reason, or if it is because of RCI bookings? Anyone else have this problem when booking?

My home base is Saratoga.... but hardly ever stay there. Last year I was able to move to BWV and was worried this year because of F&W - people even said I might have trouble....But at the exact 7 month window I was able to move my room over and then the room I booked for my friends.... So, my experience may not be typical....

Our home resort is the Boardwalk and if you don't call on the exact 11 month out day your chances of getting a standard view room is very slight even the boardwalk view is hard to get. I called one day late for Dec. 1 to 14 trip and there were no BWV left and I managed to get the last half of the trip standard view and the first half garden or pool view with a waiting list for the standard view. Good Luck

Wow - I had heard that and I guess the gods of Disney vacations were looking out for me. I was able to get a garden/pool view for myself and a 2 BR for my friends in early October. Maybe it was just a slow period.....

December 1-14 is virtually the most difficult time of the year to book ANY resort. Low points + low crowds + moderate temperatures + holiday decorations has made it an exceedingly popular time among DVC members.

Food and Wine Fest time is also very popular, as are days surrounding some holidays like MLK Day, President's Day, etc.

Other than those busy times, you'll typically see SOME small number of Standard View and even BoardWalk View rooms trickle down at 7 months. There won't be a lot of them...and there may not be any of certain room sizes (i.e. no Studios) but there are usually a few unbooked rooms.

And the Pool & Garden View will be available in even greater quantities.

About 90-95% of the year, you really don't need to book exactly 11 months out to get a room--even in the BW and Standard Views. But early-December and holiday periods can definitely be an exception.

Last year we stayed at the BoardWalk from December 11-16 in a One Bedroom BoardWalk View villa. Four of the nights were booked about 9 months out using our BW points. The final night was booked right at 7 months using non-BWV points. It's certainly not impossible.
