BWV or BCV? :)

IMHO I consider all of the restaurants to be the same for both (all 3) resorts. It's a 5 minute walk from BC to BW. It's a shorter distance than the walk from my room at Coronado Springs to Pepper Market when I stayed there. And they are both a short walk to the French Bakery in EPCOT:) You really can't go wrong with either in terms of food options.

Exactly.

From what the OP said I thought with SAB being so close to the Epcot walkway she wouldn't like that.

It's also true that in terms of total Quick Service locations the Boardwalk has more of them. There is the Boardwalk Bakery, Boardwalk Pizza Window, Boardwalk To Go, Boardwalk Joes, Seashore Sweets, Belle Vue Lounge. Tasty Sensations and Leaping Horse Libations.

There is only the Beach Club Marketplace and Hurricane Hanna's for the Yacht Club/Beach Club/Beach Club Villas guests if they want Quick Service.

Now in terms of Table Service Restaurants they have about the same amount, so for that they are even.

As others have said, in terms of restaurants at Boardwalk, Yacht or Beach, I wouldn't consider any of those as a factor to stay at one or the other. You're talking about a 5-7 minute walk max, from either resort to any restaurant at any of the 3. We stayed at Boardwalk this past July, and we ended up eating more at the Yacht and Beach. With the exception of the Bakery, I wasn't impressed with Boardwalk's restaurants. Seashore Sweets wasn't bad for ice cream, but can't hold a candle to Beaches and Cream. Personal opinion, but I think Yacht and Beach's restaurants are much better than Boardwalk. There's nothing at Boardwalk that can compare to Yachtsman's Steakhouse. But again, it's all a moot point. They're all within walking distance of one another. Heck, some restaurants are a shorter distance from some rooms at the other resorts than their own.

Wow. Thanks for the advice everyone. I looked quickly for a map online but couldn't find one but will search more thoroughly later. I love both resorts and I know they are so close to each other. They are equally beautiful on the outside to me. I think my kids would like Stormalong more than creepy clown as far as pools.

How are rooms different?
There was a thread a while back where someone pointed out that the creepy clown reminded them of Pennywise the clown from Stephen King's book and movie IT. Terrifying book.

Hmmm. I was going to get a preferred view if we did BWV but the noise may be a problem for me and one of my sons. But i'm not happy hearing that there could be an issue with the pool at Stormalong. Oy, what to do!! I did notice that you cannot choose rooms at BCV. I would want a view of the lake/Boardwalk. Is it possible to ask for it?

You have all been such a very big help and I really appreciate your feedback!! As mentioned above, we may be forced to choose one over the other anyway due to the 7 month window and it being booked, which wouldn't be such a bad thing since I am torn. ;)

I don't think any of the BCV rooms have lake or boardwalk views. The DVC wing is tucked back behind the Beach Club wing that fronts the lake that is closest to EPCOT.

Check out this link. It's the Y shaped building in the back right:

@DIsneykidder-

The BCV units are at the "front" of the hotel, towards the parking lot. There is not an option for a Boardwalk/Crescent Lake view.

I think wherever you go, you will be pleased. It's not like one's a dump and the other isn't, they are both very nice resorts. :)

Conversely, the main pool (Luna Park) at BWV is surrounded on 3 sides by BWV. The fourth side has a small building blocking most of that with a fence for the rest. However, there is no one monitoring the entrances, just like other WDW hotel pools. Anyone can walk in or walk out.
One reason for their set up is this. When walking from the Boardwalk to Hollywood Studios you can take a short cut and leave through the back of the Luna Park pool area, because it connects to the walkway which goes there.

Assuming the Preferred View at BWV is of the Boardwalk (Only stayed on the Inn side and it's what I'm use to) the noise from there has never been a problem for me. All my previous stays at the BWI have had a Boardwalk Water View and why I said that.

I have the opposite opinion. Personally I found that for Ice Cream and Milkshakes Seashore Sweets makes them a lot better.

Oh man, I love Beaches and Cream. Besides having the 2nd best ice cream on property (Ghiradelli's is still the best I think), their burgers are excellent. Plus, small as it is, at least there are tables to sit at.

For $4.00 + tax and minus my 10% AP discount I can get a Sundae at Seashore Sweets with my choice of three toppings, which is a much better deal then Beaches & Cream compared to anything on their menu. Plus there are tables outside on the Boardwalk to eat it or I can take it up to my room.

I think with a username like BWI FAN 4 EVER, you're going to have a bias for BWI, no? ;) :)
Last December when I stayed at the BWI I went to Big River Grille for the first time and didn't like it that much compared to the ESPN Club, so I decided not to eat there again. I was happy to try it once and for me that was good enough. So I don't like everything about the Boardwalk.

You can do the same at Beaches and Cream, plus you get to use your TIW card to save 20%.:)

You forgot with a TIW card there is also an automatic 18% tip and that's one thing you don't need to worry about at Seashore Sweets.

OMG! You know, you're probably right. After all, if you're staying at Boardwalk or Beach Club, clearly, the money being spent at Beaches and Cream will break the bank.

I thought the 18% tip was only for sit down, table service restaurants. If it is counter service too then you are actually paying more by using it since you wouldn't be tipping.
