Buzz Lightyear - Irrelevant or Still Solid If Maintained?

Agreed with OP 100%.

True, Buzz's physical sets are nicer than TSMM's screens. But try out the detached-style guns at Disneyland, or even better, just take a single ride on MiB, and it becomes apparent just how outdated WDW's Buzz really is.

Unlike some, I would say the giant screen finale is actually a big asset for Buzz. But the projection is so faded that it loses any sense of realism; an HD upgrade would go a long way.

Honestly, wouldn't mind if they re-themed it from Buzz to Hero's Duty from Wreck-It Ralph.

Before you get on the ride, have Calhoun give a brief speech only to be interrupted.

"Honey, I made you some sandwiches for your big mission."
"Felix, dear, I'm in the middle of something right now; I don't have time for sandwiches."
"Oh, pshaw! An army fights on it's stomach after all!"

I prefer Buzz to TSMM. I prefer the physical sets and the wait is slightly more manageable than TSMM's 2 hour waits or use a top tier FP. TSMM just feels like a ride created around a Wii game to me. The spinning adds a little bit of fun to it as well. That said they really should add some AAs to replace some of the cutout figures. A gun not mounted to the car so I can better aim would be great. Being more easily able to see the lazer hit the target would also be useful.

The other versions of Buzz are much better....not only the guns, but the targets light up when you successfully hit them as well and the sets are higher quality...less "Cardboard cutouts". I've been on Buzz in DL, TDL and HKDL....all of them are much better than WDW (does this surprise anyone???)

TSM is way better than Buzz IMO. I always have to ride TSM while I don't even mind if I miss Buzz during the trip. I can never figure out what I'm aiming at. The red dots are horrible. I do think it needs a little updating.

I'm surprised everyone still loves Buzz. I like it and my 10 year old boys like the competitiveness of the game. Some updates would be nice though.
