This is DH's question. He spotted the full-size bottles of liquor for purchase onboard the ship. Is that stuff all the duty-free which you can't consume onboard or can you buy it and enjoy onboard? I'm thinking it's duty-free. Does anyone know?

Thanks! So, this will be where we apply the rule "better to have too much than too little". We'll be sure to carry on plenty with us. :animwink::lol:

Thinking on it even further.....((which kinda concerns me because I haven't thought this much about drinky-drinks since I was a teenager...:lookaroun:lol:))

...Does DCL do a drink of the day the way RCI does? If so, how much do they typically cost? To further that thought (don't laugh), how much does it cost to buy a beer? Boy, you can tell I buy drinks and frequent bars, huh? I've always just known that when I wanted a drink it'd be at a cookout or something. :D

Yes they do usually for $4 to $6

And a beer is around $4.80 to $6, buy the Souvenir mug and get bigger refills :sohappy:

Thank you some more! I'm limited on my knowledge of these things...as a teen I lived in a dry county so we had no bars. I can tell ya all about the bootleggers, tho. Lol! I got married at 19 and we weren't the bar fly types even in college. I've been in a bar as an adult maybe twice but didn't care much for it. Too loud to have good conversation. No clue how much drinks cost. They just sorta magically appeared & someone else paid. :D

Are we sure about not getting the bottle until the end of the trip?? i got a bottle of rum in Nassua and they did not take it from me (like the lady in the store told me they would) when we reboarded?? I could have enjoyed it right then but did not want to travel home with an open bottle.

Alcohol bought off the boat can be brought on and enjoyed, such as a bottle vodka I bought in Malta!

But, alcohol bought onboard is kept until you disembark!

thanks for this post. I had the same questions about bring on board!

Disney is the only line who will allow you bring on board. So if your able carry on its a great money saver!!! We just did our first crusie this past August and a guy came around selling beer and water that would be delivered to your cabin...we got 12 Bud Lites and 12 bottle water and it cost us $88.... will never do that again.
