Buying Disney Dollars

I was planning a trip to the nearest Disney store to buy some Disney dollars to give the grand kids to use on our upcoming trip to Walt Disney World. It is about a 1 hour drive to the store. I am gald I went on line first and found out that the stores stop selling Disney dollars. I guess I am going to have to buy them as soon as I get to Disney World. Any one now where you buy them. We will be staying at the Bay Lake Towers and arrive on Oct 31. Want to put them in there Holleween cards, so need them as soon as we get to the parks.

I know you use to be able to order them over the phone and I think they stopped that too. only in the parks now i think.

The Disney Store here (and maybe other Disney Stores?) stopped selling Disney Dollars over a year ago. Disney gift cards is all you can get.

Last time I bought them - and this was a few years ago - we got them at the guest services desk in the back of the World of Disney store at DTD.

:wave:You can buy Disney Dollars at MK at City Hall, they come in $1, $5, $10 & $20
ask for envelopes for each you buy or they only give you one envelope ok. :wave:

Thanks everyone - I am going to try at the hotel first and than walk accross the street to the MK City Hall if I have to.

A tradition of mine is to always go right the Town Hall on the 1st day at MK and get DD to put in my photo album. I have them from every trip.

Each time I went with kids I always stopped at the DS and picked them up for the kids, too. They are so cute. I was bummed when they stopped selling them, too.:(

To sum up everything that everyone has said... you can only buy Disney Dollars at EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney or Magic Kingdom GUEST RELATIONS. Also, you can purchase them at ANY resort concierge desk. Disney Dollars are NOT sold in any Disney merchandise shop. If you are using Disney Dollars to make a purchase, Disney Dollars are treated as cash. Which means that you can get change back, but you will not be able to get Disney Dollars back in the transaction. Hope this helps.

I just bought Disney dollars over the phone a couple months (maybe 4) ago. The phone number is 407-566-4985. It used to be option 5 but I think that has changed as I gave the number out a month ago and it was reported not to be option 5 anymore. You can get a max of $50 per credit card used with 3 credit card transactions per phone call. There will be a charge of $15 to do this. The dollars will be delivered fed ex or ups ( I can't remember) but you must be home to receive them.

As someone who has never used a Disney dollar... what are the point of these exactly? :veryconfu They don't get you discounts or anything do they?

I used to buy them for my kids when we would go to wdw
it was a fun way for them to learn how to handle money
