What if you only need a 4 night stay?

I'm planning on booking 4 nights at the Anaheim Ho-Jo's - arriving late on a Saturday night and leaving the following Wednesday morning. We had only planned on purchasing a 3-day pass.

Would it be possible to book a 3-day pass and with this promotion get the extra 2 days, but only use one of those night's lodgings? I'd love to have the flexibility of a longer themepark pass, such that we could check in to our hotel and maybe head over to the park for a last ride of the night on Indy or the Haunted Mansion - without that impulsive visit to the park costing us a whole day's pass.

Is this possible?

The Howard Johnson is not one of the Good Neighbor hotels participating in the free nights, but it should be participating in the buy 3 days get the next two free tickets.
