I would not call that downtown Tampa....it is not even close to downtown. Also, BG started as gardens built next to the brewery...hence the name Busch Gardens. The African part was built in the mid to late 70's when AB decided to make it a theme park open to the GP. If you look at the area between Gwazi and the dragon area, that is the original Busch Gardens (hence all of the flowers) Gwazi itself sits on the old brewery location.

What are you talking about? It is smack dab in the middle of Tampa! Did you look at your links? The one dated 60's shows the basic older park...with AFRICAN names like..Nairobi, Boma,Mozambique,Trans-Veldt railway,and ANIMAL shows.Not to mention the monorail over the plains.If you are gonna correct somebody do it with correct information:wave: Where is the middle of your Tampa?

Busch Gardens is quite a ways from Downtown Tampa. In a bad neighborhood I might add. LOL. Anyway, Downtown Tampa is much farther southwest then BG.

Ok, let me rewrite this so that even you can understand.

BGT is not in Downtown Tampa! It is in the City of Tampa, but nowhere near Downtown,

BGT started as a brewery and garden. Later, the Busches add the Veldt, which is the flat land on which all of the hooved animals prance about. The Veldt also has a train and monorail....that is what the 1960's map showed.....no rides, I t hada Nairobi train station...that was about it. Later, in the mid 70's BGT went on a vast spending spree, builing Python, Scorpion, and Stanleyville falls....and that was about it for a few years Kumba came around in the early 90's, Montu in the mid-90's (along with all of Egypt) and Gwazi in the late 90's.

Boma no longer exists, it was replace in the early 90's.
