Busch Gardens - How DO you get there?

Hey!

Im staying outside of wdw, so i have easy access to intl drive - i was wondering whats the best way to get to busch gardens? the free service stipulates that i go to universal studio then get the bus there. Which leaves at 9am AND leaves busch gardens at 6! - This will leave me with all of 7 hours in the park *which is a bit lame to tell you the truth!* so apart from that so called shuttle service - is there any other service providers? :drevil:

Im going there next week, we are taking a seven hour (HOLY COW) drive to our hotel like right next to the park. how long are you staying? we are staying like a week. i live in long island. my suggestion is you make the trip longer, lol.

im staying for 15 days in the marriot world centre - so thats lake beuna vista area! I arrive on the 31st august, and plan to go to busch gardens on the tuesday the following week (the last universal ish parks im going to i think!)

So i have plenty of time - just a bit gutted that these things arent really in place in orlando for non drivers i think the service ive been offered is basically shi*te in comparison to other places i have stayed in the past....

Hence the purpose of this post - i want to investigate alternative companies that arent giving you a lame 6 - 7 hour turn around!

Busch gardens has their own shuttle service that makes multiple stops. They have more than one bus that takes people from different locations. It's 10 dollars round trip I think. Should be listed on their website. The closest place to you it leaves from would be Seaworld. Go to their website and call guest services for either busch or SW.

You're talking about Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA and cmatt is talking about Busch Gardens in Tampa, FL. They're a bit far apart.

tell me about it but its worth it in the end - ill be back with a car next time - thinking about going up north next year... the european holiday resorts well most popular destinations are often cheap and tacky.... least in the states you get a broad range of hotels to change from!

Busch Gardens is opened from 10:00-6:00 on the day you are planning to go. They are opened a bit earlier and later on the weekends, but only by an hour or so. Crowds should be light as kids in the area have been in school for about a month. The only days you would have larger crowds would be weekends and the Labor Day holiday (Sept 4)

It seems that the bus you plan to use will get you to BG at about opening time, and will leave at closing time.

The park Opens at 10 most days and shuts at 6 so your not really much better off not using the bus.


You could hire a car for the day or book a transfer with Quicksilver or similar.

The free bus also leaves from a few places on highway 192.
The closest if you are staying on site is the Amerihost Maingate. A taxi should only be about $10 or so from your Disney Hotel. Ask the driver to take the back road out behind Animal Kingdom, it brings you out at the Holiday Inn just along the road from the Amerihost.

I'm actually going on Friday, so here's a little touring plan if you like coasters. (Info generously provided by Theme Park Review)

First, head off to SheiKra since most crowds would be there all day. Then, head over to Timbuktu and ride Cheetah Chase since that ride has poorer capacity. Following Cheetah Chase, see if Scorpion is open, if it is, ride it. Scorpion can still get 1/2 hour long lines since Busch only runs one train on it.

Following Scorpion, head over to Kumba. The station would be deserted and if you're lucky, you may get a train to yourself. After Kumba, if you need a credit boost or love Arrow, ride Python.

Following Python, hit up the Skyride in Stanleyville and head toward Montu. Montu should have little wait. Following Montu, head over to Gwazi. Gwazi is a bit iffy on operations and Busch would usually operate one side on slow days like the days you're going. If you get one side, then great, you've ridden the pain-master that is Gwazi.

After that, you can ride the flat rides/water rides, or you can go on to the next park.

I'm genuinely surprised the Theme Park Review touring plan doesn't tell you when and how you're supposed to make fun of fat people.
