The monorail spiel is there for safety. That is why it is repeated in spanish. So no one can say "Well, gee, they didn't give any warnings to stand clear of the doors." They could have the monorail driver CMs repeat it over and over, but its easier (and better from a legal standpoint) to play a recording. Same applies for anything that would occur on the busses.

If you ran Disney Transport you would have been fired in 2mins for being racist, bringing the system to a standstill if they removed all people you didn't understand when they spoke, and for getting Disney in some deep legal and media crap.
The main job of these people is drive buses not be tour guides! Do they drive you safely to were you want to be? Yes! so they are doing their job. If they install a automated system it would be better as it would be a clear and standard, that way everyone can understand. Some southern american accents are hard for me to understand but I don't think that Disney should put them all in dish washing jobs because they have an accent I cant understand.

What? Disney has hundreds if not thousands of bus drivers; I highly doubt that they have the same number of translators! The fact that driving a bus in the happiest place on earth is not the best paid job on earth goes someway to explain why many drivers are from overseas I am sure many of them if offered to swap jobs with the higher paid translators would gladly except. I think all bus drivers have passed some form of interview and tests in ENGLISH so I am sure they could cope in an emergency as they will have had some basic training maybe in first aid? I am sure if the guy didnt speak a work of English the people wouldnt just sit on the bus while it burned would they? I know I have met some dumb people at WDW but I would hope some people have a brain and wouldnt expect the bus driver to start making announcements if they crashed or set on fire its makes sense you get out! :hammer: :hammer:

I simply used the tragedy on the bus in Dallas as an example. Maybe a better example would be a pilot or airline attendant. But my point is a valid one. There are some situations that it is imperative that clear communication is vital. Maybe a bus burning is not a good situation. What if there was a some type of danger that the bus driver would need to communicate and he could not. Could you see things getting out of hand because of the failure of the ability to communicate. I could.
