bus services to hotels

In all of the times I have been to WDW, I have only used the bus system one time. Since we are usually resort guests, we just take or car (or rental) and park in the guest parking lots at the park. The one time we used the bus it tool longer that driving to the park, parking and walking up. Just my oponion but the park closing lines for the busses look awful.

Yep, I'm with you, Chris. I always prefer to drive to the parks, rather than rely on the buses.

One thing that we noticed on our trip this past summer was that while the busses were pretty good in the mornings, the system was lousy in the evening. We were at ASMusic, and there was usually a CM at the bus stop every morning, but never at night. At night, however, it was a nightmare. We waited over 45 minutes one night to catch the bus to Downtown Disney. I don't mean that there weren't enough busses running to Downtown Disney, I mean that not one bus ran that route. We watched busses to every other destination come and go. Finally, we got a bus, but by then there were about 100 people waiting. The bus driver, to his credit, was already on his radio when he pulled up. He crammed that thing full to the doors! Whatever he told the dispatcher must have worked, because two buses showed up back to back about ten minutes later. I think that if they want this "Magic on Demand" system to work, there will have to be a constant monitoring throughout the day, not just for the morning rush. In the mornings I don't think we waited more than 10-15 minutes for any destination, but we had very long waits for some places in the evenings, and Downtown Disney was always the worst.

I for one don't want to have to remember to call a bus every time I leave. The main advantage to staying on property is to not have to worry about that kind of stuff. I want to know I can walk to any bus stop and then a bus will come without me having planned it all out.
