Bum bags

I dont have anything against them. But I go with a backpack. It has all the room in it that I need to carry my Disney essentials, park snacks, and room to carry things that I dont have shipped back to the room. I've always had a backpack with me... it would feel too strange going without one. The one time I wouldnt have it on, I certainly would find I needed it.

Mr. Sak, I do not appreciate this little thread of yours. I think that bums should be able to carry whatever it is that allows them to hold their possessions without having to answer to the likes of strangers on the internet. Why, just the other day I geared up for WDW with my equipment and had a swell time. Now where did I place that photo of myself...ah, here it is.

Are they ugly as heck? Yeah. But they're an absolute must for me for several reasons. My nerves run really close to the surface, which causes my arms to go numb with minimal pressure on my shoulders. A pack lets me carry all of my essentials without the discomfort of numb limbs. It also allows me easy access to all my must haves; glasses, glasses cleaner, lip gloss, plastic, cash. Added bonus, it deters thieves. I know someone is up to no good if they're all up in that region!

I'm already a little round on the belly area, there's NO way I'll add something that will catch even more attention to that area!
Good point. I worked at Space Mountain in the early 90s and always ended up asking the pregnancy question to women wearing a t-shirt over the pack. Totally makes you look preggars.

Where were they wearing the pack part, in front? That's not the way to wear them!

I would use a pack if I could find one. If a person doesn't like it on me, then don't look at me. I am at WDW to have FUN not to worry about what others think about what I am wearing. I will dress comfortably, and if that means a pack then so be it.

You wear it in front to deter thieves. It's easy to brush up against the back of someone "accidentally". Not so much in the front. If someones got their hand all up in there, they're up to no good. It's not fashionable, but it's a safe and convenient way to carry valuables hands free, and if your like me, keep your arms from going numb with the minimal weight of a lightly packed backpack.

I finally got my wife to agree to leave that horrid pack at home. I bought her a Vera Bradley Hipster bag for her to use instead. View attachment 32028

Dear Hubby would rather I just use a backpack or throw everything into his backpack. But there are just some things I can't ask him to carry for me. Also not into Vera Bradly Bags they just look ugly to me worse then packs/bum bags.

Agreed on all points. If I want a bag that looks like that, I'm perfectly capable of making one myself and not paying a ridiculous price for it. Only thing is, I don't want a bag like that! But, to each his/her own. We all like and appreciate different things, and that's what makes the world an interesting place!

I'd never work a thrill ride if part of my job was to ask women with protruding bellies whether they were pregnant.
