:sohappy: Yay!! This sounds like a great addition to PI, maybe there might be some Irish dancing considering Lord Of The Dance did well at Epcot a few years ago.

I must say that this is a great idea, but I dont like the fact that pleasure island is loosing one of its clubs. I hope they add more clubs in the future. I would like to see fulton's turned into a river boat casino! that would rock.

hmm irish pub, not to sure about it. But saying that the irish food might be good it will probably consist of steak and kidney pie, soda bread, everything will have bolied potatoes. Oh yeh and im irish so do you not think that they should give me a job there ive spent the best years of my life in pubs.

Love live the irish amoug us.

Fear not, it will be Americanized Irish foods. Odds are pretty good that it will be a blend of Irish, Scots, Welsh and English foods. We have several here and all are more of a Celtic blend. And as Belle said, maybe they can get some of the great Celtic bands to play. And after several rounds we can do the five pint jig. :p

Slainte!

Mark my words. There is MORE to come; West End stage will disappear sometime this summer. One more club will be closed as well. You will see a couple new shops and a push to keep the island open in the daytime for shopping.

The end is near for PI, soon the "new" Downtown Disney will be here.

If it's like the Jazz Club was, it will be limited to 21 and up.
:veryconfu Jazz Co. wasn't limited to 21 and up...was it? I went in there when I was 18. There was really no reason for a limitation in that club, execpt for cigar smoke inhilation.

As for the Irish Pub, that's pretty cool. But I really liked the Jazz Co. It was my 2nd favorite club on PI. Why did they close it? Too bad it wasn't that top 40's club that's getting the replacement. I wasn't at all impressed with that club.

The Irish culture is known for its warmth, character and hospitality...
And their drunken behavior. (Just to let everyone know...I'm half-Irish. I can make fun of my stereotypical culture.)

two thumbs up for the irish pub..

i really like the idea to go to PI without paying admission !! Maybe this is a trend we will see for all venues there .. if you like to dance.. pay for a dance club .. if you like spending money on food and drinks ...no admission.. so you do not block out a certain part of your potential customers ..

It has to be seen how the strong irish ales and brews mix with the Florida heat at the end.. at least you will get "real" beer after all :)

To bad by U.S. Law we can't have the real thing since there can only be a certain percent of alcohol in beer here.

If you can't wait for this place to open there is a fun little pub on I drive in the plaza where the Hard Rock Vault is.

Wow that is so cool! When me and my two friends were there in May, we actually went to an Irish pub off propety... if this would have been there we wouldn't have had to do it... hehe. Very cool! :)

Generally the states decide how much alcohol to allow in beers (whether imported or brewed in that state).

Florida allows for craft/microbrewed beers that have higher alcohol contents. I know of one beer in particular brewed in Florida with a greater than 7% alcohol content. I'm guessing there are ones with higher contents.
California has an imperial stout (Rasputin) that is just under 9%.
The biggest problem with Florida as far as beer goes, I think, is that Anheuser-Busch is very influential (this is Bud/Busch Country), and they inhibit changing the alcohol laws in Florida (such as bottle size laws and distribution laws).

mmmm. beeeeeeeeeer. :sohappy:

It all depends on which night you go. Sundays through Wednesdays, all the clubs were 18 and up. Thursdays through Saturdays, there were a few that were 21 and up. This included Mannequins, BET Soundstage, and the Jazz Co. I'm not exactly sure as to WHY this was.

BTW, word has it that this club will be an operating participant and not owned by Disney.

No word on whether it will have Disney CMs or not. There appears to be an overabundance of PT CMs since Jazz Club closed.

The pub sounds cool. It would have been better if they could have built the pub somewhere else and kept the Jazz Club. Why is the West end Stage going to be cut?

We love Nine Fine Irishman. It is wonderful, very authentic! My family on my mothers side is from County Galway in Ireland so I have been exposed to true Irish culture. If you ever get a chance to go to Ireland, GO!!! I am always homesick when I leave and I only go about every 4-5 years!
