Buh-Bye Jazz Company! Hello Irish Pub!

I think part of the reason the Jazz Club underperformed (as far as attendance goes) is it's placement. It was really one of my more favored places at PI because you could see real talent (Comedy, Advent.'s Club, and ... sometimes the RnR Beach club have talent too) but the others (the dancing ones are fun and all, but hearing Toxic Audio et al at the PIJC can't really be beat.

But back to the placement... it will be interesting to see how the Pub does being that that area/building is kinda tucked away from everything in the lil trancept......

Anyone remember when Jazz Club served food.... it was packed pretty regulalry (even when PI still required admission). 'Tis a shame that they didn't just decide to add food again and see what the numbers would do .... and then they could've put the pub in somewhere else...

Ah well... I am still excited that live entertainment will be there ... not to mention... BREW! :sohappy:

We love Nine Fine Irishman. It is wonderful, very authentic! My family on my mothers side is from County Galway in Ireland so I have been exposed to true Irish culture. If you ever get a chance to go to Ireland, GO!!! I am always homesick when I leave and I only go about every 4-5 years!

OK lets see if we can help our poor little ethnically confused Belle!! I have some pretty Irish bloodlines and look it (or so I have been told!!) But I dont like beer!!! Never developed a taste for it. I do like wine and certain mixed drinks. Will this place have a fully stocked bar for those of us who dont care for the beer/lager/whisky thing?? Belle
P.S. See what getting adopted at birth into an all Italian family can do to ya??

Belle,

I wouldnt worry too much about stock wise.

Because if you spend any length of time in Ireland you will realise that the most popular drinks are bud/heineken over here.
Guinness/Beamish/Murphy's have always been regarded as auldfellas drinks. Mind you thats not to say us young ons don't drink it.

But anyway back on point I would be hugely shocked if the pub was not stocked with the staples of the young irish drinker (vodka, gin, bacardi) lets not forget all the alchopops.

I am assuming that it will be a non smoking bar (It will have to be if its going to be authentic).

Anyway I hope you all enjoy it when it opens (I just pray that it doesnt go down the road of "Fake authentic" irish bar).

I will certainly drop by to see what its like in August.

Thanks for the heads up!!! I appreciate it!! What may I ask is an alchopos???
Non smoking is always a good thing for me. I am a non smoker and not very tolerant of it especially if I Am eating at the time!!!! YUCK!!!
I wouldnt know real Irish from fake Irish so I will have to rely upon you for a first hand review!!! As I said I am interested in getting my favorite Celtic Band, Off Kilter to play there!! I cant see why they wouldnt at least on occasion and it seems such an obvious choice but hey stranger things have been known to happen ( or not as the case may be!!) Belle

Actully, the Jazz club, is not really "Tucked" away. You used to have to walk right by it in order to gain access to the Island.

Of course, now with the no gates thing, that's another story.
