Buffet breakfast no characters?

I was wondering if I could get some recommendations on buffet breakfasts without the characters. I love Hollywood and vine breakfast, but my kids still are too shy with the characters. I find I may be wasting my money there because we just go to eat and the kids hide from the characters.

So my question is, is there other restaurants on property that serve a similar breakfast that doesn't have characters? Do you prefer them? Any insight on great places to eat for breakfast on property.

The wave by far is my favorite breakfast buffet but isn't entirely normal breakfast foods - but that's what I like about it. Also that it's dead quiet and relaxing.

Trails end is my second favorite for similar reasons. And their biscuits and gravy are to die for (coming from a person that doesn't like biscuits and gravy.)

Much like the breakfast skillet at Whispering Canyon Cafe, the buffet at The Wave isn't the only thing at breakfast, but one of the options. There's an ala carte menu there as well, which is great if perhaps anyone in a family isn't THAT hungry.

Hey kap, do you know if the buffet at the Wave includes an omelet station?

Right, sorry I didn't mention that. Basically the buffet is everything that is on the menu +. No made to order omlette station but there are usually one or two flavors of gigantic omlettes that you can serve yourself. It's also quite possible they'd make one if you asked as the chefs there are very accommodating. The only other Disney restaurant I know of with an identical setup to the wave is storytellers at The Grand Californian and there they are more than happy to bring out one or two items if they happen to not be on the buffet.

@kap91 I thought as much but thought I'd ask. We might arrive a night earlier than our reservation. We're booked for BLT, we'd probably get a room for one night in Pop. I'm trying to decide if it's better to a: eat at Pop's food court b: leave early for check-in and eat at The Wave or c: pretty much anywhere else in The World. Clearly, I've narrowed it down :D

I would have to say our favorite has been Fresh Mediterranean Market at the Dolphin. There you CAN get your made-to-order omelets, and unless they've changed since we were there, you can even select your own ingredients and hand to the chef. The juice extracts were also something that is above the "norm". Just a superior quality all around.

There is a separate menu there as well. Much cozier atmosphere.

The one thing - it's at the Dolphin - so no dining plan.

Me too! Best Mickey waffles, the All You Care to Eat Skillet will feed a small army and the servers are a blast! Just don't ask for ketchup.....
