Say hello to Zelda!

Now, for anybody wondering why, let me give some quick background info on myself.

I am a Canine trainer/behavioralist and we often train working dogs for various purposes. Zelda is in training to assist a young child for whom she will have several tasks. And before anybody asks for any specific information, please know that it would require me discussing the childs medical information/condition which I will not do. I can however tell you that Zelda will be medical/psd dog.

Zeldas family travels to Disney several times a year. I have trained several dogs that have been to WDW with their families but the training Zelda will require is a bit unique and I need to bring her there myslef to actually train in the parks, resorts, and on the various modes of transportation.

I chose yacht club as a resort because they are pet friendly and even though a service dog would have legal access To any of the resorts I figured this would be easier not only for us, but the cat members of the resort as well since YC is prepared for dogs.

Zelda has already completed her public access training. Those of you here who follow me on Instagram have most likely already seen some videos of her or if you Haven't they are there for your viewing pleasure lol.

I am very excited about this trip as it will provide a lot of new experiences for not only myself but Zelda as well!

We have a total of 6 days booked and we'll be leaving near the end of this month. Updates to come soon!

And here's some pics of Marie trying to get to my seltzers!!

Have loved this report!! Zelda is so sweet, loving the pictures. She is a WDW pro! It’s really neat to see what she can ride, what the crate accommodations are, etc.

Side note - not sure I’ve ever seen Rose and Crown that empty! And we visit early usually 😁.

Also loved seeing some forum meet ups! Hope you are feeling better.

As we exited the park and passed the skyliner, I heard a woman's voice calling out my name. I'm very used to woman yelling my name and chasing me down so I didn't react at first (I'm totally joking, that never happens... I usually react quickly) ok, ok I'm joking. Nobody was chasing me down, but I did hear a woman saying my name. It was @cgersic !!!

Zelda is a good judge of character and she immediately wanted some love!

She was glad to be off duty and getting some attention!

It was such a fun moment to meet a fellow wdwmagic family member!

Fun fact: i dont care for the the term, "magician" **gasp!! Ok, i probly just ticked off about 99% of trip report forum people/magicians 🤢

After our photo shoot and a pleasant conversation we parted ways. It was such a pleasure to meet you @cgersic !!

I'm sure @amjt660 was crying like a little girl, wherever he was 😁🤪
LOVE THIS!!!! Sooo, as you can see by my look, it was a crazy hot afternoon and I had been at the MK all morning and rode the monorail to Epcot so I could wander through and grab a beer (or two!) on my way back to Pop Century via the Skyliner. As I exit Epcot and head to the Skyliner, in front of me I see a white t-shirt with khaki shorts attached to a dog, and knew right away it was @wdisney9000! So I start yelling his real name (he was on his phone, so it took a couple of them), he turns around and sees some rando lady yelling at him, but doesn't say anything, so I have no choice but to yell "I'm a Magician". This immediately puts a smile on his face and he stopped looking at me like I was a loon. Now, I know you say you don't like the term, but I had no options, and it DID do the trick, so there is that..... We do the introductions and I got the OK to give Zelda some love, and she turned into a big pat of butter melting on a hot biscuit!! Soooo sweet and soft. Sadly, this was our only meet up as I ended up with the same type of bug that you did, and didn't get to meet any others either. But THANK YOU for stopping and taking a moment for me!

I’m curious, do the parks have designated areas for service dogs to relieve themselves? I saw Zelda sitting on that fake grass in the hub of MK and it made me wonder. I’ve never noticed anything before (but, I never had a reason to!).

Great report!!

Yes, they do have "relief areas" but they are about the size of a sewer cap. Zelda did not relieve herself at any of them. I had her on a good schedule of going in the morning at the resort and same for afternoon break when we would return to YC amd for the evening as well.

This TR will continue tomorrow morning. I intended to fire it back up last week but we discovered a "mass" on one our dogs legs.

Original biopsy came back and showed of signs of bad thing brewing so the vet removed the entire mass (and then some for good measure). It's been a stressful week waiting for the results but I'm happy to announce that her margins are clear and she is ok now!!

She has 25 staples in her leg from the surgery so it's been a lot of in home care for her.

For those of you here who follow us on Imstagram and sent well wishes, I can't tell you how much it meant and we sincerely appreciate it!

Day 3 continued!

Ok, let's get back to it!

We left off when Zelda and I were at MK. She did great as the parade went by and then we did the purple wall thing. Are you supposed to only get the purple and not have any cement showing in the picutre? I never learned proper purple wall etiquette. Is it still even a thing?

20230601_120834.jpg

After the purple wall, we took one more photo. I have a friend who had mentioned Disney had gone bit a over board with pride month so I sent him this picutre to razz him up a bit

20230601_120855.jpg

He got a good laugh. And no, my friend isn't anti-pride month. We had just been discussing new merchandise (clothing specifically) amd how there wasn't anything good released for men's button up shirts in the last few months and he had just mentioned there was a lot of pride merchandise.

Moving along, we headed into Tomorrowland land and hopped on the people Mover.

20230601_122338.jpg

Next we strolled around and found the relief station near Storybook Circus. It is actually the largest of the relief areas, but it is artificial turf and it was hotter than the surface of the sun! I noticed some old train tracks beyond the relief area.

20230601_125706.jpg

I had to wander a bit past where the artificial turf ended to get this pic and a CM quickly came over and told.me I wasn't allowed to go that far back. I asked if she knew what the track was for and she said she didn't know and I needed to move back, lol. Anybody know what this was for? For reference, the railing in the right side of photo is for the actual train and the Stoeybook Cirdcus stop is right past where you can see.

The train pulled up so we hopped on!

20230601_130153.jpg

Zelda really enjoyed the train ride. She wasn't phased by the trains whistle either.

After the train ride, we hopped off and had a LL for HM but the pavement was getting extremely hot and injad not brought her booties. We strolled around the shops to get her used to the traffic amd then we headed out for a very important date!

20230601_130903.jpg

I tested Zelda on another mode of transportation when we left

20230601_131827.jpg

The monorail! Amd of course, she did great!

Day 4 ctd...

Zelda was clearly tired after a long amd hot morning.

I snapped a few pics to send back to C

When we stopped at Contemporary, a man and his son entered our cabin and the entire row across from us was empty but the kid wanted to sit next to Zelda when.he saw her. Instead of noticing the harness with the many patches displaying service k9, he allowed the boy to sit right next her. I moved down to the end of the row and Zelda followed. The man amd his son seemed to disapprove as the father gave me a look lol.

Soon we arrived at our stop. We had a lunch date with some cool kids 😉

It was @amjt660 , @Tuvalu , @TrolleyFollower91 and Tricia, Maxs wife (who was clearly uncomfortable around so many people 😁)! I'm kidding. She took the photo.

If you have read Max and Tuvalus reports, you've seen the other pics from our lunch.

We had a great time and Zelda loved making a few new friends

It’s for theming. The Casey Jr. splash pad is supposed to be a turntable.

If you look closely, there are other tracks around it, like it would be if they were going into the stalls of a roundhouse.

The section of track between the orange lines that has the merchandise caboose on it is the one that leads to the relief area.

I knew the train aficionado would have the answer!
