Hi all

Were thinking of eating dinner at Brown Derby on our next trip with a F! Package.
We've never been here-how is it? What are your favorite choices?

Thanks!

I love it!

My favourite appetizer is the Lobster Bisque. Favourite entree is the Duck Two Ways. All the deserts were good.

Best dining option at DHS! The only advice I'd give is related to their famous Cobb Salad. I heard I had to have it. I wasn't overwhelmed by it, but it was good. But, I was overwhelmed by the size! I am a big eater, and since they called it the cobb salad an appetizer, I ordered it and a full meal. BIG mistake. The Cobb is too big for even me to eat alone and then eat a meal!

If you want to try the cobb salad for an appetizer, try to split it between 2 or 3. It is good. I had a crabcake appetizer that was very good too. The grapefruit is awesome. I get it every time I go to DHS; even if I don't eat at Brown Derby. I'm going again in October and I want to try something new this time. If you really enjoy something make sure you tell the waitstaff. They gave me a copy of the receipe for the cobb salad and grapefruit cake. Haven't made it yet, but want to try. Hope you enjoy and let us know what you had.

The Cobb salad is amazing. We have tried to replicate it here at home, but some of the ingredients on the recipe we found are a little hard to come by here in the "country"

Its one of our fav's. Like Monty said the duck is yummy, my fav is the pan seared grouper. I think you will enjoy it and :sohappy: on the trip, Oct is a nice time to go to Wdw

I have found at this place it's best to go for appetizers and desserts. Both of those are much better than their entrees, which in my opinion, are average.

I enjoy the Cobb Salad and the Grapefruit Cake.

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.
I usually go for lunch... I get the cobb... and a couple La Fin Du Monde beers... and it makes me forget what a lackluster half day park DHS really is.:lookaroun

My brand new fiancee and I went there to celebrate our hours old engagement (I proposed after the Beauty and the Beast show on stage) and we absolutely loved it. Well, we might have been on a super high and would have said some peanut butter on a sandal was the most delicious meal ever. :)

We shared the Cobb salad and it was delicious. We had him toss it at the table, but not before grabbing a picture:

This was the most unique *feeling* salad I've ever had. The lettuce is practically ground up and the entire salad just melts in your mouth. I suppose some people could be thrown off by the mouth feel of this, since it's lacking the expected crunch of a salad you usually get.

My fiancee ordered the roasted chicken and we were both not too impressed my it, to be honest.

Not that it tasted bad, it just tasted like any roasted chicken, nothing fancy. I got the porkchop topped with smoked gouda:

This. was. phenomenal. I thoroughly enjoyed it. We split the grapefruit cake for dessert (well we ordered just the grapefruit cake). I'm not a huge fan of grapefruit but I wanted to try it. I could have done without it but my fiancee loved it. To honor our new engagement, they brought out an extra chocolate mousse dessert free of charge!

No problemo! These forums helped us decide where we wanted to eat, so now that we've got some info/photos we definitely want to "pay it forward".

Thanks! I actually got the whole thing on video and in photos, here's the youtube link if you're interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKbKzrprgQs

I love the Derby. Never had a bad meal there. A little pricey - but worth it. It's even more fun if before you go you can read up on the actual Brown Derby. Try to find some old pictures (or even see the I Love Lucy episode when she goes there - hilaaaarious!).
