Broken things :/

I don't want the mansion to be the same. Yours already has some great elements that ours doesn't! Real Elevators, a walking hallway with the changing pictures and busts that follow you (ours our part of the ride), Hatbox Ghost (i think) shadow playing the piano in the attic. I'm not saying you need a stairway scene, but I can imagine the possibilities that could be done in that loading room!

You can keep the Matterhorn if that's what's is supposed to be. It is the most uncomfortable ride I've ever experienced, I think a true bobsled would even have a smoother ride, and to the point, I don't think that's what they were going for in terms of authenticity.

I think it would depend on what exactly they did with the loading room. Mansion wasn't supposed to be a ride, it was supposed to be a walk-through attraction, which is probably why the loading room is so big.

Yes, it can be uncomfortable. Matterhorn is a Disneyland thing, a lot of WDW vets don't like it. We don't tend to like changes to rides and attractions that have been around since Mr. Disney was alive. We try to preserve Disneyland as much as possible, as impossible as that can be sometimes. Changing the Matterhorn just doesn't seem right. It would feel different... It wouldn't be the same. Lots of grown folk still remember that bumpy ride from when they were children. If they do someday end up changing the tracks, I'd still ride Matterhorn, but right now, I'm not in a hurry for a change.

Hey. I will give you guys credit for your Fantasmic! WOW! was all I had to say about that! The Dragon was amazing (and THEN he blew fire!!) And using the Columbia for the Peter Pan scene was phenomenal!

Also, Remember was great! a little awkward having Tink fly back and forth over the castle (what happened to Dumbo?) But using clips from attractions and traveling around the park was wonderful! And perimeter shots!! It wasn't even a holiday weekend! lol! Well done!

I was slightly disappointed in WoC...I think it was hyped up a bit more than it should have been, it was very long...and even the preferred viewing wasn't the best place to view it. Yes we were dead center, but we were too close I think. And some of the scenes, while great in theory, didn't execute as well as I had hoped. Some of the animation that was made specifically for WoC just looks terrible. Though the alien popping up on Screaming was great!

Dumbo is in Magical!, the summer firework show.

so two other things I wanted to mention to you DLers...

Your Matterhorn is still horrible. Even with the new trains, what a terrible and painful ride. They need to rip and replace that track on the next refurb, and until they do that, we'll just admire it as a beautiful backdrop but nothing more. ay yi yi.

Your Haunted Mansion (which I've ridden both with and without the overlay now) is not as great as MKs. I think this is one place where they have gotten things right for us for once. What I love about yours is that you actually enter through the house, and that the house is to scale with a true antebellum style house (I've always hated that our house sits on a hill, but you enter through what appears to be a side, servants entrance). What truly surprises be is that without the overlay, your loading room is a HUGE waste of space and a missed opportunity! There is so much space there to do something incredible! You could have an expanded stairway scene like was added to ours a few years ago, but sheesh...do something!
Very much agreed on Matterhorn, but like MK's Space Mountain, that track is unlikely to ever change. I know it's a classic and all, but it'd be hella fun to have a somewhat smoother ride in and around the mountain.

And I sooooooo feel the same way about Mansion. MK has gotten some fantastic upgrades lately. DL's audio is really lacking, and you're right about the wasted space. I was just thinking about that on my last visit. That first part of the ride through darkness would be perfect for something like the staircase or library scenes… just something. There's a lot they could do with the whole thing, and I hope it gets some love sometime soon.

I'd say 3/4 of the animatronics on the showboat in Splash Mountain were frozen solid yesterday. I'm not sure if it was just an issue for the day or if the thing is being neglected like its Florida counterpart was for so long...

On RSR, I saw Doc working for the first time in a few months, but the tractors weren't tipping (and there were no smoke rings as usual).

Finally, it's not "broken," but they weren't handing out sourdough samples at Boudin. I have no idea if they were out or if they've stopped doing it entirely.

I was just there a couple weeks ago and I was very glad that Aladdin was flying on his carpet again during the show! I didn't notice a lot of bad stuff, but I'm not a regular so I was just happy to be there! I did notice that the Matterhorn sleds looks a little trashed on the inside and the handles of the guns at Toy Story Mania were really sticky or some of the black stuff was coming off. I also wasn't a fan that the music in my car at California Screamin' wasn't working and when I told the cast member he just said "Yeah, we know have a good day." I don't think they should run a car if the music isn't working and they know about it or at least tell people so they can wait for another car if they want.

Someone already brought up Haunted Mansion...It looked terrible. The main section with Grim Grinning ghosts...I noticed some of the ghosts were not lit up, others not popping out. That and why the heck don't they make sure everyone is in the stretching room before starting the audio? I was having trouble hearing it. That, and once when I rode it, there was no audio in one speaker. Ugh!

RSR: Tractors were not tipping

CA Screamin': They were running the green train through emptyo_O. Once the audio cut out mid ride.

TSM: Right gun is warped

For the most part, everything works, or is turned on in the attractions. Disneyland needs to clean up, though.

TOONTOWN. Chipped paint everywhere. The whole thing needs to close for an entirely new paint job. It's honestly embarrassing.

The last time I was at the park, the "N" in the Tomorrowland neon signage was out. Hopefully that's been fixed.

Murphy doesn't spute fire from his mouth. Hopefully that's only temporary.

The old Fantasyland Skyway Station is now home to critters, though Fantasyland CMs use it for get-togethers, sometimes.
Sorry, don't know as much about DL as WDW, but who is Murphy?

Murphy is the dragon in DL's Fantasmic!.

List of other names I may list and you may not know:

Harold: Matterhorn yeti

Fluffy: Snake in Indiana Jones

Delores: Ghost in Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy
o_O

Okay, now I'm never going to view these guys in the same way ever again

Remember, DL is full of diehard, local fans.:) The park is treated differently.

His name is Murphy because he wasn't working properly when he first debuted.

Fluffy the snake is still my favorite.

Great, now I'm trying to think of names for the broken Yeti...leaning towards Elvis

I didn't know they had problems with the dragon. Huh.

I've heard the broken yeti's name is Betty.

Days (maybe weeks) went by with no Murphy. It was upsetting. It took forever for the dragon to finally work, and fans cheered when Murphy finally debuted.
