This entire paragraph was a droolfest for me...good God.
I'm not entirely sure what Jersey tomatoes are but I want you to please make one of those BLTs with that thick cut bacon for me.....What kinda bread do you use Deb???
Wow....I'm getting all fired up with this bacon talk...I feel like I just asked you "what are you wearing?"..
LMAO Bro!!!!!!!!!! Jersey tomatoes are just..... heaven... when you and Tina travel thru our fine state, I will definately hook you kids up!!!! Ron's bread of choice is a rye/pumpernickel blend, toasted lightly, 3 decker, with salt, pepper, mayo. Simple, but the kind of sandwich, dreams are made of :)

OMG Sandy .... bacon, bacon, bacon WHERE! I'd open the bag but I don't have thumbs!!!! .... oh wait... nevermind LOL Just last night, Ron wanted a BLT, which I made him (THICK cut bacon too with Jersey tomatoes!!) and he said thats the one sandwich he has never found at Disney! LOL Every trip, we do Chef Mickey's, and he gets the scrambled eggs, potatoes and a handful of bacon, mixes it all together and literally growls as he eats it LOL. NOWHERE else does he do this.. but he swears, the bacon makes it

Oh Deb, how I miss Jersey tomatoes (and corn too). :( And the sandwich sounds AWESOME!!! I do like that breakfast mix...and it actually works with a Cozy Cone @ DCA idea I got earlier. They make bread cones stuffed with eggs, bacon, etc. i.e. yummy goodness. BUT- what if that cone were made of bacon???? :jawdrop: We figured out 2 ways to make it...both involving metal cones normally for making horn style pastries.

1. Wrap the cones in bacon- stand them upright and brush them in pancake batter. Then bake them upright, periodically dressing in more batter so that you eventually get a nice thick crisp pancake coating sealing in the bacon lining.

2. Lay out puff pastry sheets and press strips of bacon into it. Then wrap around the cones and bake.

I might need to make this happen.

To be honest.I always find the bacon on your side of he pond, wayyyy too over cooked..In fact..Frazzled..Like its been zapped by Buzz Lightyear..I like thick slabs of unsmoked highland bacon that comes from our Porky farm and just lightly grilled on both sides..:hungry:
I know nothing beats fresh of the trotter  :hungry: But W a i t r o s e Canadian maple smoked bacon is pretty darn good :hungry::hungry::hungry:

other supermarkets (and maple) are available

Is it American "burned" bacon, the closest thing in the UK being streaky bacon, or the kind of what Americans call "underdone" bacon that I grew up with in a European household?
