Don't forget to bring along some Baconnaise to throw on top of a plate of bacon! ;)

To be honest.I always find the bacon on your side of he pond, wayyyy too over cooked..In fact..Frazzled..Like its been zapped by Buzz Lightyear..I like thick slabs of unsmoked highland bacon that comes from our Porky farm and just lightly grilled on both sides..:hungry:

Hatter...you just described DH's bacon! o_O Whenever I make it to my liking, he accuses me of serving him something undercooked. :banghead: Funny, we have the polar opposite issue with pasta...he can't stand it when it's al dente. Although, putting texture aside, it's the same issue with overcooking things. OY! :in pain:

I knew I'd married well when my wife walked into the kitchen one Sunday morning and said, "I don't smell bacon cooking!".

Our last Crystal Palace meal could have turned me into a cardiac patient. Whoever was working the flattop that morning nailed it. Nice and crispy, just a hint of char, but not burned. Plates of bacon and a glass if OJ and I was ready to go!

With International Bacon Day approaching and a bacon themed food day I'm planning for work next week, I'm wondering if you have any favorite bacon dishes at WDW?

mmmmmmmm....bacon:hungry:

There is bacon in the Le Cellier Canadian cheddar soup and that is so yummy!! So that gets my vote! :) I think that is all I have had with bacon on it. Except for a bacon cheese burger.

Well, I will try and remember to post whatever it is I wind up making for this food day. I can't see myself doing the soup, but the WPE inspired meatloaf sounds promising. Of course, there is a small portion of our group that's really hoping I fire up the ice cream maker and whip up some maple bacon ice cream.

Yep! I've had chocolate covered bacon before and it was pretty darn good, but I'd DEFINITELY prefer cheese covered bacon...! :hungry: ;) :)

How about chocolate covered cheese covered bacon? While I don't think it would work as well with a cheddar (well, maybe an apple wood smoked cheddar), if one were to cover the bacon in brie or maybe even a fruit infused goat cheese or stilton and then coat it in dark chocolate. It has potential...I think. :hilarious:

I may actually try it...not sure if I'd do it with full strips of bacon or if I'd crumble it and make it more like a candy cluster. Or, I could try both...since brie seems like it would be better for a candy cluster while goat cheese sounds better for strips of bacon. :D The kids want me to audition for next year's Master Chef, but I don't know if I want to be seen on TV crying over Gordon Ramsay's sharp criticism.

Ditto! Go for it girl! We watch it religiously and you know you would have a leg up on everybody being such an awesome baker!

I'd have to do some serious training at home to try and prep for the basic skills and uncommon ingredients challenges. i.e. I'll have to spend one weekend perfecting eggs, the next cleaning fish, the following preparing more exotic poultry, and so on. I'm also going to need to work on pasta, bread, and other dough recipes. We'll see... just not sure how all of this will work with the budget.
