Do you think Disney should bring the Timekeeper back to honor Robin Williams?

So the telepathy wasnt working?

For the record I dont believe in rewriting history or airbrushing reality, painful or not.
I cannot be sure, and I'm not just a little scared about it, but, for some reason I feel that we are in agreement on that point. That is what I was saying. I don't want to see attractions revitalized because some event causes some emotional pull that everyone wants to jump on. Be that, Robin Williams, Michael Jackson or the Twin Towers. Altering or excluding because it is unpleasant to some, as well as, recreating as a tribute, is, in my mind, an insult to the person, place or thing.

Monsters is actually a pretty good show.

Couldn't it fit in the Stitch's Great Escape theaters? I mean, it wouldn't be as big as it was before, but it would still be a decent size for a tribute. There's two theaters anyways. Heck, they could even add a pre show!

Flatten the room floors, no escalation. Put a small circle vision 360 theater in there, and have the robot AA in the very center :) Just a thought.. Considering Monsters have more fans than Stitch does, why not replace stitch?

Their decision not to have him return was a blunder.

This is true in a way, but also not. Depends on how you look at it. Disney made a deal with Robin Williams and they cheated him. He said not to use his character Genie is marketing for toys and such, and to only take up 25% of the advertisement poster. Disney agreed, and did it anyways. Disney tried to give him a Picasso painting worth 1 million dollars and Williams was still upset. Robin Williams was cheated, and it wasn't until Joe Roth took over and made Disney apologize publicly to him that Williams decided to mend the friendship with Disney again. Thus, recording his voice in the third Aladdin film!

..I'm not sure why I felt the need to post this. I'm just a little bored.

All that said, I think Dan Castellaneta gets a bum rap, as he did a bang up job on the series, in my opinion. Was he Robin Williams? No. But the man is still a legendary voice actor and I feel that showed during his run.

It would be nice if they'd just put the Timekeep animatronic and the spiel somewhere, but I guess that would make noooo sense without the rest.
Just bring Back to Neverland back! That's just a film. Done. Sorted.

Have to agree with those that think ANY tribute to Robin would feel more like a crass cash-in on the highly emotional attachments we are currently experiencing. That doesn't mean that they shouldn't acknowledge him in some way.

And since people keep mentioning the Laugh Floor, there is only one other Disney attraction I like even less, and that is Disney Quest. In fact, I think they should move the Laugh Floor into that...and then promptly knock the whole thing down.

How exactly would they be cashing in? It's not like bringing back something like the timekeeper or captain EO attracts any more people into the parks who otherwise wouldn't have gone.

I didn't mean "cashing in" in the business (i.e. a money grab) sense.....more of as a play on our sympathies....which to me would just feel wrong.

For a brief period of time Captain EO did generate a bit more traffic, but, I don't think it is what Disney was expecting. Since then it is about what it was before they got rid of it. Besides, as I have stated before, there is a huge difference between Captain EO and the Timekeeper. The first difference would be animatronics and the structure needed to support them. Second, it also requires a 360 degree theater. The only one of those that still remains in that form is Oh, Canada and I don't thing they are going to transform that into the Timekeeper. Third, 360 degree projectors, which I'm sure are very expensive and were probably scrapped, (as were the animatronics) when they tore it out. The forth, and probably the most important, is that it wasn't a huge deal to put EO back in the theater it came out of. The 3D projection was still in place and all they really had to do was reload the film and change a few signs. It would be a massive production to reinstate Timekeeper.

One can talk about the pros and cons forever, it isn't going to happen nor do I think it should. I loved the Timekeeper, but, it is no longer there other then through the courtesy of people that filmed it.

if they can bring back EO they can bring back the TIMEKEEPER, regardless what attraction do they have that is any better?

Was only thinking about him last week when passing his picture in the queue to Journey into Imagination at Epcot, he was a very, very funny man.
