I say we start a petition to BRING BACK THE CLASSICS that made Disney what it is today. Bring back Toad, 20,000 Leagues, World of Motion, Horizons...etc... Update them & bring them back!! Your thoughts???

What about this idea? Hopefully someone filmed those rides before they closed. Maybe they could put out a DVD with all of the retired rides on it. They could throw on a couple of extras like attraction posters and such.

Personally I would buy that DVD in a second!:sohappy:

Just a thought...

There are DVD's out there like that. I'm not sure of website, but other members do buy the movies from this one website.

I miss 20,000 leagues big time. I avoid looking to that direction just because i get all angry. They stol my child hood and replaced it with....well nothing.

Didn't Mr. Toad and 20,000 leagues always have long lines.
I personally would like to se Horizons come back.

Can someone explain World of Motion, Dream Flight, and Tropical Serenade? I cant remember any of these. I don't know if it was when I was really little, or I never rid them.

World of Motion was in EPCOT, where test track is now. In fact, its the exact same building that stands today. It was also sponsored by GM, and was a omnimover ride through scenes depicting the history of transportation. It was one of my favorites, and had some pretty good AA scenes!

Dream Flight was another omnimover, but it was in the Magic Kingdom. It's been closed for years, and I THINK Buzz is in it's building. In my opinion, DF was an awful attraction. I may have been too young, but it seemed to have no real value, or point. And all you saw were some cheap AA scenes (if any) and a lot of projections. Big waste of real estate. Way back when, they also had an attraction called Mission to Mars in Tomorrowland. It was the worst thing ever! You sat in a round theater, looking down at a circular video screen on the floor and it simulated a spaceship launch - WOW, it was bad!

I'm drawing a blank on Tropical Serenade......I don't even recognize the name.

Mister Toad had NO lines the last couple of years of it's excistance. That's why they closed it.

20,000 Leagues had long lines because it was a slow loading ride.
It didn't have good handicap access either and was a pain to load when it came to overweight and older guests. I only rode it twice and I'm kinda claustraphobic so I didn't care much for this ride. It also had a fowl odor from the condensation and constant dampness inside the submarines. The audio animatronics were not very good and very antiquated. This ride either needed to be shut down or totally upgraded.

I do however miss World of Motion, Delta Dream Flight, and Horizons. I'm not into "bringing back" rides but I wish these three rides had never left. They were all "Must rides" when I went to WDW.

Kitchen Cabaret, and The original Tiki Birds were both sleepers as well....almost always no lines the last two years and so they were closed.
Unfortunately their successors, Food Rocks, and The Under New Management Tiki birds never faired well either.

I wish they would but............there is no way that they'll ever rebuild them. Money, what about the rides that replaced them, and I don't think that the current CEO would want to have to do that. :(
