Brilliant New Disneyside Ad

It could have been Roosevelt Field Mall. It is one of the larger ones on LI. Also, did the company bring in friends of the characters who know how to bring them to life? Or were locals brought in?

Very well designed and produced ad.

Does not change my view that DisneySide is a complete waste of time. It is promoting 'Nothing' in the parks. Due to lack of investment in anything new, there is really nothing to promote of course.

You do get that Disney is much more than just the parks don't you?

This feels like an updated version of the Magic Happens ads like:

.

There were about a half dozen ads in that campaign that were all about how Disney magic can appear in all parts of our lives, not just the parks.

Just because it has the Disney name on it, does not mean it has to be about the parks alone.

Where was this filmed?

Long Island, New York.

I think the mall is, if you want to get specific (and this is a wild guess) is Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove (Suffolk County). I'm originally from Long Island and used to frequent that mall quite a bit. Then again, there are TONS of malls on Long Island, so it could be anything. :)

Aside from the location - the commercial is way cool! I approve! #DisneySide :)

God bless the "Ignore" button.
As much as the actors mixed in with the actual crowd bugged me, I am a sucker for anything emphasizing meet and greet characters.
Also: I think this is the first I've seen of articulated Daisy!

She was used in the Disney Live tours...There is also Articulated versions of Chip & Dale that are used on rare occasions..

Thanks very much for posting this, I think it is terrific. I immediately texted my daughter to make sure she watches it. On the down side I am watching this at work and now am hoping nobody stops by my office in the next few minutes and asks why a 57 year old guy is tearing up and grinning like an idiot at lunch time!

I'm pretty sure I actually saw Chip and Dale rehearsing the first time I was ever in a backstage area (the DAK Rehearsal Facility). But that was back in... December of 2010. Maybe I'm making that up in my mind; that seems too long ago.

Yes I do. Been following the company closely for 20 years. :)

Still doesn't change my view that the whole DisneySide is a complete waste of time, and in relation to the parks, where it is heavily used, just highlights the fact there is nothing new to actual promote.

I think the average person (who may not follow the company as closely as those of us on here), will see the ad and... they will smile.

Many have shared it on facebook the last couple of days.

Several friends of mine reposted it and a couple of them said, "need to plan a trip" or something similar - my sister included.

True, it doesn't promote anything new at the Disney Parks, but it does promote the feeling that most people have when they think of Disney.

It may not go as-viral (yet) as those push-up Gaston videos a couple months earlier, but it's produced well, contains that magic and makes you feel good/smile when you see it. It accomplished its goal.

This should have been a commercial during the Super Bowl.

The most recent Disney Side ads are rather blah.....Now the one's that were in the 90's...Some were done really well...

The one everyone likes to talk about....

But the Best one's were these That just shows that no matter where you are Magic Happens with Disney ..

But, This one....OMG.......Tugs at the heartstrings..

I remember the little boy in the bed - that was a while ago - 5 or 6 years at least? The others must be older?

I like the new one - it seems more "real" (at least the people's reactions).

The last one was great - it had me a tad verklempt. :)

What does 'I'm lovin' it' at McDonalds promote?
Or how about this one?
