what's more sad than people complaining about umbrella colors is going to be when they complain the way the cinderella suite in the castle looks like. :brick: :dazzle:

Look at the tower in the background. Obviously a new paint job, no? It almost looks like gunpowder or burn marks on the window there... Like cannonfire has come from it. Very nice. Me likey. :sohappy:

Edit: Also noticing the pirate flag coming out of the window... That wasn't there before was it? So I'm getting that pirates had a battle with the fortress, took the tower, and placed the flag. Anyone else reading that?
The flag has always been there. Or at least it was back in January when I was there.

Yes, I know that they are just umbrellas, but if it were my decision, I'd rather see something that worked better for the Main St. area that they are in. Think about it, would you expect to see bright blue and yellow umbrellas during the turn of the centrury? (thats the turn of the 19th century, not the 20th) I would imagine seeing them made with a fabric like this:

I don't know if I'm the only one who thinks this way?:lookaroun

PS: yes that pirate flag has been there for years now

The new sign looks like it will be a dead ringer for the one at Disneyland Paris, which has an AWESOME version of Pirates. Huzzah for the new sign!

That was my 1st reaction as well. Except for the colors, looks like stylistic clone of Paris. Very AWESOME indeed!

The blue/yellow umbrellas - is that really going to help? I agree they look out of place and I can't imagine that will provide sufficient escape from the Florida heat/humidity.

Re: AK bridge - that'll be interesting to see... I liked the stone bridge.

TWO WEEKS FROM TOMORROW I'll be back at the Vacation Kingdom of the World!! Can't wait!! I'll be coming fresh from DL's Pirates the day MK's opens, and then on to MK's version the very next day!

Thanks for all of the great pictures! My husband and I expect lots of pictures and info. from those of you who are lucky enough to be going on the DL and WDW versions of Pirates. We won't be able to see it until November. Thanks in advance for sharing great pics and info!

I give up on the umbrella discussion... I only remember sitting on those benches once... I felt like I was wasting time and not getting tan enough. I just personally didn't like how they stood out. But that's good if others like the color. - hell, anything is better than faded.

I think the umbrellas would look nicer with dark red and white stripes to tie in with main street. And they would look less out of place in Adventureland also.

EXACTLY!!

I think the angle of the picture is what is throwing people off here. It appears as if they are right next to the entrance to Adventureland. When in fact they are right by the hub, well before the bridge that leads to Adventureland.

I agree. Those umbrellas are not IN Adventureland but rather in the hub. The themeing for Adventurland doesn't extend out into the hub beyond the actual bridge and arch leading into Adventureland.

Neither are the umbrellas in Main Street. So, I think the umbrellas fit fine.

Either way, they're very ugly. They would've been alot better off a dark green color.

Those pics make me even more excited about seeing Pirates now. It looks like they're going all out here

Also, those umbrellas are just fine. While Adventureland has a lot of earth tones, this end of Adventureland is like an island village. These umbrellas would look perfect next to Aloha Isle, ja?

I could be mistaken, but I swear I've seen those exact same color umbrellas in older MK pics.

So, yer saying Adventureland doesn't start til you get to Adventureland -- HUH???? That's defenatly one way to look at it....

(I hope you realize this is jest)
