Bridge connecting MK to GF being constructed

Here is a picture of that area from Google maps taken in early 2012 and you can see that there was already a crude dock at this location. I assume this is a replacement, although I am not sure what this one was used for.

I kind of doubt it. The dock being constructed is for guest-type traffic, whereas this picture is of a work/utility dock not meant for guests.

I imagine they are building them in a convenient location and will float them to their more permanent location. I would guess they are for one location with an departure ramp and arrival ramp. Perhaps more docking locations at Disney Springs.
Can they float them from the Seven Seas Lagoon to Disney Springs?

Yes
I watched them playing around with these structures for the first two weeks of December and they are not bridge sections for pedestrian or vehicle traffic. They are constructed more like water intake supports.

No. There is not a navigatable canal that connects them.

I know there is a canal connection the two, by going out of seven seas into bay lake, past Wilderness lodge then into the canal, I can't not tell if those are locks or grates though so as for navigable I am not sure.

I am 99% sure that it is a lock used to control the height of Bay Lake and 7 Seas, but even that does not connect into the waterway used by the Port Orleans resorts, OKW, etc.

Those locks are not navigable. Thats for water level management. Ive canoed down where you are referring to next to Wilderness Campground.

There is no way to sail from Seven Seas Lagoon to DTD.

Heck, I've stayed at Bay Lake Tower/Contemp 4 times in the last couple of years and maybe took the monorail back to the resort once maybe twice, walking is way easier and less congested.

Thats why people abuse the parking at the Contemporary. They just want to walk to the park real quick.

Thank you for clearing that up. I have never swung down that way so I wasn't sure. :D

Sounds like we've established that it's going somewhere in the Magic Kingdom area, most likely a boat launch/passenger load ramp. I would like to venture a guess at a new ramp for Grand Floridian, closer to the new DVC building, but I haven't seen or heard of any construction in that area. Other possibilities could just be replacement ramps for existing launches.

Yep, I think you're right about the load ramp. As much as I would have liked a new walkway, it looks like they're just replacing the loading ramps for the ferry boat. Here's a picture from Bing maps showing the dock near the TTC being worked on. The floating section in the middle looks like the ramps that are being constructed.

There were permits filed a few weeks ago for the ferry dock at both MK and the TTC.
