I was thinking about making a reservation for Chef Mickey's for breakfast on our last day. First: How is it? Second: How would I get there from POP at 7:00 AM?

It is a must. First of all it is in the Contemporary Hotel. Which is very neat all in itself. A monorail runs right through it which amazes both kids and adults. The hotel is pretty cool. A nice arcade, decor is decent. Views are great and then to top it off in the main area of the hotel is Chef Mickey’s.

It is a breakfast buffet with your typical eggs, bacon, waffles and plenty of other fixings. Plenty of fresh fruit and of course the characters come out. It is usually the main ones. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Donald and Chip and Dale. They interact with the guests. Some more than others. The food is good. It is a great experience. Will it be the best breakfast you have ever had?, No.. Will the location be the coolest you ever visit? probably not. Will it be an experience worth doing and something you will remember forever. Absolutely!

I'm hoping to take my GF and her daughter this August. :)

Can't help you with how to get there other than cab it or drive if you are.

As for the food, we had breakfast there last summer. Its buffet style and while I wouldn't say it was the most incredible meal we have ever had we did enjoy it, and so did my son. They had plenty of options for all of us, including taking care of my food allergies. So I dif recommend it. Also we went more for the experience and the atmosphere than the food. To see my sons face as Mickey came around to him, that right there made everything worth while. So keep that in mind. I think your going to have a fabulous time

We need time for things to happen.
As other posters have said - its nothing out of this world food wise, but by no means horrible. we love it -- we really just go back for the whole character experience. We love the atmosphere its a great time and an excellent way to kick your day off before hitting the MK.

Depending on when your trip it, the Magic Kingdom buses might be running to help you get to your reservation. From there, it is a short walk to the Contemporary. Pop can call a cab for you too.
