Breakfast at Cape May Cafe or 1900 PF

Hi Everyone,

We are wanting to do a non-park breakfast character meal for my daughters birthday in September. We haven't done breakfast at either restaurant, but we have done dinner at 1900 PF. My daughter likes both sets of characters offered, so we are really just trying to decide which to do. Does one have a better food selection than another, or is there something in your opinion that makes one a better experience.

Thanks!

I've been to both and think that both are even as far as food/experience. Can't go wrong with either. Maybe the deciding factor is what park do you plan on doing that day? If you say Epcot or Hollywood Studios, then definitely go for Cape May. If it's MK, then do 1900 Park Fare.
We actually aren't doing a park that day (MNSSHP the night before) so all options are open :D

Love both, but for a birthday, I would choose Park Fare. Love the atmosphere, characters are great, and food is pretty good. I love their strawberry soup.

We had a really great character experience at dinner with the Tremaine's, there. GF is pretty awesome food wise. We ate at GF Cafe for lunch after we came back from a cruise this year, and their specialty sandwich was the best sandwich I have ever had.

I really love both, so this is a hard question. The food offerings are great at both, but I’d give the edge to 1900 Park Fare. There’s a slightly larger food selection at 1900 (plus custom omelets and eggs, which Cape May doesn’t offer). Also, face characters — Mary Poppins is always a delight to interact with, and the Mad Hatter is a BIG highlight.

I always go to both for breakfast on my trips, but now that I’m really thinking about it, I mainly book Cape May for convenience, since I stay at Y&BC. It’s a good breakfast, but I’m not certain I’d go out of my way for it if I wasn’t staying right there. I would not miss 1900 PF, though!

Just an FYI, Cape May does custom omelets as well.

Oh, darn. I knew I should have added a disclaimer to that one, since I haven’t been there for breakfast since May ‘17 and I was pretty sure I hadn’t seen one then or in years previous. Where is the omelet making area set up?
No worries! It’s my understanding that it’s only been there for a short while. It is set up near the front as you walk into the restaurant. As you approach where the buffet is located, it is toward the right, if that makes any sense. Anyway, the omelets were fantastic!

I was at Cape May in spring last year and there was no MTO station so it must be relatively new
I've never seen any type of custom order station at Cape May. We were there most recently just a few months ago. Interestingly, All Ears lists a crepe station but no mention of omelets.

I remember a brief, shining moment in spring of 2016 when Cape May tested a made to order mimosa/Bloody Mary bar in that very same spot (where the desserts are set up at dinner time). Much to my disappointment, that bar didn’t last long and was gone before my next trip. I know, I know—you can just order mimosas and bloody Marys from your server, but this was so much more fun. I do hope the MTO eggs last!

Good point! That area in the entry alcove does often have something that seems like a trial. The same is true during the dinner buffet.
