Brave wins Golden Globe!

I was thrilled that Paperman won. The only award that really got me excited all night. That film is everything that is right with animation. I had a hard time between Brave and WiR. I really do love both movies, and so do my kids. Very glad to see Brenda Chapman get to give her acceptance speech as well. I'd have loved WiR to get a win here as an underdog, but truly was split 50/50.

Bad call on both GGs and Oscars. I'm betting both voting pools didn't even watch these movies and voted for the one labelled "Pixar." I don't care what studio made what movie, Wreck-it-Ralph is the superior film. It was completely fresh, original and surprisingly, at least for me, emotional. I cared about the characters in the end. Brave left me cold. It was beautifully animated, but when it comes to storytelling, as cliche as it gets.

But yaayyy for Paperman! I was stunned the first time I saw it- what a treat.

Over Wreck-It_Ralph? Maybe they just got used to checking off the box that says Pixar next to it. Brave was just okay IMO.
My thoughts exactly. Wreck-It Ralph has a creative element missing from Brave.

I went and saw Brave in theaters. I've seen it precisely three times. Wreck-It Ralph came out on DVD on Tuesday. I've seen it five times. Which do you think I liked better?
