I am not sure how I feel about him but the fact that there is a thread about him on a Disney forum tells me his movie will probably do very well this weekend.

So Borat was number one at the box office on Friday with nearly $10 million in receipts.... from only 800 theaters. That's over $10,000 per theater. It deserves every penny too. That movie has some of the best social commentary this side of South Park.

I cringe each time I see the preview on television. I am over 30.

I guess the older I get, the more humor of that type really turns me off. Maybe it has something to do with being a parent now as well.

I saw it tonight and I loved it. There were, however, a couple of things that made the film less than perfect. It was far too short. It seemed we only got a couple of minutes in each location where in the television show you would get to spend 4 or 5 minutes in a particular area and I would have preferred having less locations, with more time in each. The other thing is going to surprise some people. I didn't think it was nearly as shocking or as extreme as the hype was leading on. I mean if you've seen the skits on Da Ali G Show, you have probably seen more explicit material on that. There is one scene that breaks this logic (Very obvious to those who have seen the movie), but I found just about every other segment to be quite tame compared to the skits. Maybe they thought people who were unfamiliar with the character couldn't take any more offensiveness and still "like" the character or maybe it was just me. I didn't find this to be nearly as "hard" of an R as I was expecting. But don't get me wrong, this movie is nowhere close to PG-13 land.

A solid "A" or 9/10 in my book. I feel that if we get an extended cut DVD, it could easily be an A+ type of movie for me. However this is still one of the funniest films I've seen in a few years and I had a blast watching it.

How can anyone not like the son of Asim Balat Sagdiyev and Boltolk the rapist? Or the former husband of Osana Sagdiyev, who was the daughter of Mary Anne Pulakby and Boltolk the rapist?

"No, no... that's 'THERAPISTS' not 'The Rapists.'"

Love him

This guy is pure genious.Im 35 and think his comedy is funny as Hell.I like all of Cohens characters-Ali G,and Bruno too.Whats funny is that alot of people dont understand his humor. The Throw the JEWS down the well song got him in big trouble with the Anti Defimation League.........
Some info on Sasha Baron Cohen------

a-Mother is from Israel
b-Hes an vey religious Jew.
c-He graduated with Honors from Cambridge University.
D-Hes so religious that he wont marry his Fiance until she converts to Judiasm.

Knowing his true identity makes his characters even more funny and people should not take offense to it.

Great comment from his interview with Adrianna Costa on CNN: "There was some concern about the amount of anti-semitism in the movie. But it was decided that there was just enough so they released it anyway."

It was something to that effect, if not exactly that.

Scott, you need another couple of options:

Borat: I haven't a clue who or what that is and I'm over 30.
Borat: I haven't a clue who or what that is and I'm under 30.

I settled for "no likey/over 30".

I pick "I haven't a clue who or what that is and I'm under 30." :lookaroun
