Welcome to the board WDWEric!

There are quite a few good books out there - some in print, some older ones at Amazon.com or ebay. The ones I have (and highly recommend) are:

Building a Dream - the art of disney architechture
The making of Disneys Animal Kingdom
Designing Disneys theme parks - the architecture of reassurance
Designing Disney by John Hench
Since the World Began - Walt Disney World the first 25 years
The Art of Walt Disney - 1979 (The last few chapters are superb), also republished 1995 (about 50% new WDW text)
Walt Disneys Epcot Center 1982
Walt Disney Imagineering
The Disney Touch
Birnbaum WDW guides (updated each year)
any hard back Walt Disney World souvineer books bought at WDW (updated anually)
Walt Disney World the first decade (1982)
The making of Walt Disney World (1976)

You may also want to consider Disneyland Paris - From Sketch to Reality (2002)

This is by no means an exhaustive list - its just what I have been able to get my hands on!

If you want specific info on any book (year, author, ISBN code etc.) post here or PM me.

I agree with the above list especially the Epcot 1982 book.
I also recommend, Behind the Ears by David Koenig. Its Disneyland, but still an excellent book.
Happy readings!

I bought this one for my brother, Disneyland: A Nickel Tour. It's a book about Disneyland which includes a picture of every postcard produced for the park. Great book.

Oohhhh, I thought of more.

I love the Disney Encyclopedia's from Dave Smith, I have read them from cover to cover, and they are great to have around as reference too.

There is another book, but I can't think of the title of it. I saw it in the Disney Magazine, but I have not been able to find it in stores. It was a book with pockets and each page had some info, and in the pocket was a trinket, such as an "e ticket" or a reproduction of a letter from Walt himself. It looked awesome, can anyone help me with the title of it? If not, I'll have to scour the pages of the Disney Magazine to find it. (Which, even though is not a book, its a great Magazine, and I recommend suscribing to it. www.disneymagazine.com)

If I think of more I'll let you know!

I am new to the forum as well. Another good book I found is called the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. They are published yearly. There's alot of useful information there. That's how I found out about WDWMAGIC.com!

Since the World Began
This book doesn't have new info. It was published a few years ago, but it's really interesting. I read it cover to cover without stopping when I first bought it. I just couldn't put it down. I think I'll read it again tonight:)

ILUVTHEMOUSE- welcome also, I highly recommend that book. It was what brought me here in the first place. It has a lot of information, numbers, secrets, and cool stuff. It is worth every dollar you pay.

My three favorite Disney books:
The Nickel Tour
Disneyland Paris: From Sketch to Reality
Imagineering

I strongly reccomend all three for any Disney park freak.

For fans of the Haunted Mansion, there is a new book out called

The Haunted Mansion: From the Magic Kingdom to the Movies (or something like that)

My favorite Disney Book is "Walt Disney: An American Original". It gives a very in-depth and realistic view of Walt and his life, and I think it is the best autobiography of Walt Disney out there.
