Booking ADRs online at 180 day mark

Our 180 day mark is this coming Wednesday, October 6. My question is, what time does the online system switch over to the next day. Is it midnight, or 6 AM, when the phone lines open, or some other hour? I live in the Central Time Zone, so I wonder if I will be able to get online at 11 PM Tuesday, since that will be midnight their time, and book my ADRs. Anyone ever tried this?

I never realized that the online system "closed". I just figured that as long as you're within the booking window, you could get online at any time and book ADRs. So what time in the evening does it close, then?

I was really hoping I could get on at 11 PM my time, but I guess I'll just have to set the alarm a little earlier Wednesday morning.

Try earlier, it's kind of a crap shoot as to when it really begins. The last 2 times I made ADR's online, I was on 1-2 hours before the official time. I just got up every hour and checked, starting around 2:00 AM (eastern). Planning is part of the fun for me! Sure enough I was on much earlier than the official time.

I live in the Central time zone and booked our ADRs at our 180 day mark back in June...

The website will recognize your 180th day (+10 if you're staying at a qualifying WDW hotel) at 5am CT. If you have anything that needs to be booked by phone (like the Fantasmic dining package) you'll need to call at 6am CT.

With the exception of Web site maintenance, I believe the Web site is up and can handle bookings and cancellations 24/7. It's just 6am ET (5amCT) where the site makes that flip and recognizes the day in the whole 180 day cycle.

There are people who swear that the Web site often opens up the next available 180 days day a tad early, but it made the flip right at 5am CT the day I booked.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I thought maybe I had found a loophole to allow me to book on the 179th day instead of 180, but looks like no dice. :ROFLOL: I'll just set my alarm a little earlier. LOL

You're 179th will be late... I think you meant 181st?

The on-line site is officially available at 6am Eastern time, but has been known to sometimes be available earlier [I've successfully booked as early as 5am].

Iforti might have already answered this but can you book all of your adr's at the 190 day mark of your trip, or 190 days out from each adr you want?

180 [not 190] days prior to check-in at a Disney resort you can bok up to 10 days' of ADRs for your trip. This is commonly referred to as "180+10 reservations".

If you do not have a resort reservation yet, you can only book one day's ADRs 180 days prior to the day in question.

You think YOU may have a problem :) Try this one...

Sandy and I will BE at WDW on November 11 - and the 180 day for our already booked May 10 trip is (you guessed it) - November 11!

OK - no thread hijack intended.... but has anyone ELSE ever had this issue? I'm thinking of taking an EXCEL printout of what we want in May to the Hotel Concierge.... I also have a portable: I COULD book all our dining online - from WDW :)

Suggestions?

Utilize the concierge. Just make sure he gives you the reservation numbers....:)

I'd go with the portable. Concierge wouldn't necessarily be available right at 6AM when the on-line system becomes available. Means waking up a little early perhaps [I'd already be up :lookaroun] and a $9.95 charge for internet access if you weren't already paying anyway, but worth it if you want some of the harder-to-get reservations.

I already have a reservation at Coronado Springs. I thought I could book adr's 190 days out? You're confusinig me MontyMon. :brick: Say April 1st is my 180 day mark for Oct. 1, can I book all of my adr's for the entire trip on Apr. 1st or do I have to book a reservation for Oct. 7th on Apr. 7th? :dazzle::lol:

The way it works is at 180 days from your check-in date you can book up to 10 days' worth of ADRs.

Using your date of Oct. 1:

On your 180-day mark, which would be Apr. 4, if you have a Disney resort reservation for 7 nights you would be able to book ADRs for every day from the 1st through the 8th of October on the 4th of April.

If you don't have a resort reservation on-site or haven't booked your reservation yet, you would only be able to book Oct 1 on Apr 4. Then you'd have to book Oct 2 on Apr 5, Oct 3 on Apr 6, etc...

The advantage of having a resort booking is getting access to the 180+10 window. By calling it 190 days out, you misrepresent what you can actually do. The only day that can be booked 190 days out is the tenth day of a 10-day or longer stay.

thank you. I would've been on-line 190 days from my trip wondering why I couldn't book adr's. :hammer:now I understand how it works and I like it.

I like the new mobile site for dining more than the regular site  I'd personally go with that.
It's http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/reservations/dining/m/ but can only be accessed from a mobile device.

Since my 180 day mark was yesterday, my original question is now a moot point, not to mention that it was already answered anyway. But here is what I have planned/booked:

Monday April 4: Arrive at Carribbean Beach Resort, hopefully around 9 or 10 AM and go straight to DTD while waiting for our room. Hopefully go to T-Rex for Lunch as walkups and pay out of pocket and then that evening, do our customary run into Kissimmee for Walmart and mini-golf at Pirates Island.

Tuesday: Universal, then supper at Shutters at Old Port Royale at 5:35, and then stay in at the resort the rest of the evening doing pool/playground time, maybe a surrey bike ride, etc.

Wednesday: Islands of Adventure with our friends, the Norrises, then Hoop-Dee Doo at 7:15. We plan to enjoy Ft Wilderness before and after supper and maybe do a wagon ride at 9:30.

Thursday: Do AM EMH at Magic Kingdom, take midday break at some point, then come back to MK for supper at Crystal Palace at 6 PM, then MK the rest of the night.

Friday: Breakfast at Hollywood & Vine at 8 AM then DHS all morning. At some point, do midday break, then into Epcot for supper at San Angel Inn with the Norrisses at 5:30, then evening EMH.

Saturday: GatorLand and maybe shopping at the Florida Mall. Supper at Chef Mickey's at 5:45. Rest of the evening pretty well open for whatever we may want to do. Enjoy our resort some more, play more mini-golf, go into a theme park, or whatever.

Sunday: Go to the ocean, then supper at 1900 Park Fare at 6 PM

Monday: Morning EMH at Animal Kingdom. Go to DHS in the evening for supper at Sci-Fi at 6:50 and evening EMH. By the way, does anyone know why DHS closes at 7 all week during peak Easter season? By utilizing evening EMH, we can be there until 10 PM, which has been normal closing time at other times we've gone.

Tuesday: Morning EMH at Epcot. Epcot all day and night (except for a midday pool/nap break at some point) and supper at Garden Grill at 5:55.

Wednesday: Breakfast at Crystal Palace at 8:05, then Magic Kingdom all day and night, except for the midday nap/pool break in there somewhere.

Thursday: Check out and head home

The Norrises booked the San Angel Inn and Hoop-Dee-Doo ressies, for a party of five (the two of them, my wife and I and our son). However, just to be on the safe side in case something comes up on their end between now and then, I went ahead and booked our own ressies for 3 for each of those places at the same time. Once we get a few days out, I will cancel those. I know there is alot of discussion on these boards about double booking, but in this case, I thought it was wise to prepare for the "what ifs" by booking our own ressies just so we don't end up without an ADR in the event that, for whatever reason, they can't make it.

Excellent response, but I've still got a question...
Does the online system recognize this or does it need to be done over the phone?

Yes the on-line system recognises it. If I recall correctly, you need to sign in and retrieve your resort reservation and then book. I'm not sure, but I think you book an ADR for your first day and then it'll let you have access to the rest of your for up to ten days' stay.
