I would definatley call instead of looking on disney's website.
The holiday season is one of the most busy times of the year for disney. Villas go pretty fast whether they are members using points or non-members renting directly through disney.
If you have seven people, I would quickly find accomodations and book it. If something comes available later you can always change your reservation.

I had trouble online when I was looking for something for 7. It just doesn't give you many options online. I called and had plenty to choose from. We're going the 13th thru 19th, so that could be why, but call anyway. The reservation people have more options to pull up regarding your party size. Just tell them what you're looking for (1 room/villa, washer/dryer, kitchen) and they can tell you what your options are.
You may even get a better deal if you get 2 rooms at a moderate resort. You can request connecting. You still get the 2 bathrooms! Last year, we put the early risers in one room (they took longer to get ready, so they got up earlier) and the late sleepers in the other room. That worked out really well.
