Hi everyone!

WOO HOO!!!!

We booked our trip! I am SO excited!

I happen to have the day off so I get to spend all day planning planning planning! :)

Okay, the details:

Staying at Beach Club, Garden Room, from February 21st to March 1st. We have an 8 day MYW ticket with Park Hopper and the Dining Plan.

So I hopped on the waltdisneyworld.com website this a.m. and it only allowed me to pick room on reservations so I had to call. Which I never mind doing b/c for the most part, I love the cast members. And I talked to the most amazing and helpful cast member today! She was awesome! I explained that I tried to make the reservation on line and it wasn't allowing me to pick a package. She didn't know why but I am just assuming it is another one of those famous website glitches.

We were hoping for YC standard or garden room but YC is already booked! She said that she is getting a TON of calls from guests changing their room only YC reservation to a package. So next time, if I am ever waiting, I need to book Room Only for the following year when I can and then change it later. She did say lagoon/pool room views are still available. But I grabbed the BC Garden Room b/c it is easier to move up a room then down. So if we choose a pool view later, then we can upgrade easier then needing to down grade.

I nearly choked at the cost!! I always book under free dining or some other promotion and I am confident that they will issue a new special offer for early 2014 some time in late fall. But for now, I'm paying off a very large number! EEK! CHOKE!! COUGH!! My DH may not need to know this number! :) hee hee

Dining opens up for me on the 25th of August. So I will hopefully finalize the plans for that by this weekend so I am all prepared for the big date!

Congrats to everyone who is booking for 2014 today!!!!!

The count down begins!!!!

Happy Planning!!!

I'm just glad I'm not the only one who almost choked to death when they saw the rack rates for rooms and packages yesterday. It's been several years since I paid for a non-discounted room. Holy cow! I am not sure if I'm booking this weekend or if I'm going to wait and see what discounts emerge (I very, very rarely book more than couple of months in advance so booking this early would be kind of weird for me, hahaha,) but if I do book soon I will need to repeat to my husband "there will probably be discounts, there will probably be discounts..."

I knew they came out today but what specifics are there? When I called I was told they had no information yet.

Hmmm, that's odd. I booked our 2014 trip. We are going in Feb. I believe late 2014 reservations open up in a few weeks. Are you going later in 2014? I couldn't get info online - it wouldn't let me book a package so I had to call.

Just booked Riverside March 1- March 8. Damn the prices went up it seems. Now we usually go in early Dec which is a value holiday season. Is this just the jump to regular season prices? WOW. Like everyone else I am waiting for the resort discounts to come around. The CM I booked with said they really aren't doing the free dining much anymore. But that the hotel discount 20%/30% pretty much pays for the dining. Not quite sure about that. Anyway I took the real mad hatter recommendation of Riverside. I am sure we will love it.
We just returned from Riverside May 27th. We are from Louisiana and I can assure you that it was impressive and awesome. We loved it and I am sure you will. Loved the landscape, the marshmallows roasted at the campfire each night, and lastly the food court has pasta your way bar which was our favorite. Congrats on your trip and enjoy making Disney memories!!!
Best wishes to all who have the opportunity to go to Disney in 2014!

Thanks for the info. We are from Louisiana also. For that reason I have always been reluctant to book these resorts. I have always felt a vacation is to get away from home not go to a place themed after it. But I have read so many good reviews for these resorts on threads that I felt why not. I am really looking forward to it; especially the water taxi to DD. We frequent there nightly. Love it!

I went ahead and booked to make sure we got the resort/room and will apply the discount later. :) There better be a discount! Hee hee :)

How do the discounts work. I booked for Jan 24th through the 31st, but if they do come out for that time will they automatically apply it to my account.

Soooo....I am not sure of the official policy but on three separate occasions, three different results happened. One time, I had a pin code. I had to completely rebook. One time, I had a reservation and wanted to apply free dining and all I had to do was call and add it and she didn't need to rebook. Just applied the discount and the total amount due was just reduced. And the final time, I wanted to switch resorts after I made a reservation and all I had to do was call. So I am not sure of the official policy. Worst case scenario, they will just rebook you under the proper discount code. :)

Congrats on booking your trip! I know how ugly those rack rates can look...especially when you've still got the 2013 rates out there to compare and contrast...but hopefully some good discounts will be released for your dates. Wild that all those rooms at YC were already booked up. WOW!
