Bonnet Creek

I'm sure this has been asked before, however I was unable to find it out on my own, Is Bonnet Creek a Disney Hotel? If not, can you tell me why it is on Disney property, as well as the downtown Disney Hotels?
Thanks

Well, if you want the whole story, try the search option. The Cliff note version goes as follows: Walt was not able to buy every tract of land. The land in question is bounded by Disney on three sides. That land is going to be Bonnett Creek Resort. I believe Disney was ordered to provide access to that resort from on Disney property. As for the Downtown Disney resorts, in 1971 they were called "Official Hotels of WDW". Independent hotels that had connections with Disney (Disney Transportation, etc.). In the 90's they became independent, own transportation, no early entry, guests pay for parking. hope this helps

Bonnet Creek Resort is a timeshare property being developed by Fairfield Resorts. It is not on Disney property, but it sure appears to be. I don't know about Disney being ordered to do anything, but I have been to where Bonnet Creek Resort is being built and it is in a good location. They'll sell every unit available.

Its funny - the land in question (east of the CBR, next to Epcot Center Drive) has always been outside of every printed property map TWDC has produced - you would have thought they (TWDC)would have seen it coming! I know they couldn`t buy all the land they wanted... or find all the original owners, but it kind of seems such a ________ up!

BTW - WDW/RCID HAVE to provide access to the land in question (since it is landlocked by WDW property / Epcot Center Drive) and they had started to build the access road next to CBRs Old Port Royale (at the junction of Buena Vista Drive / Backstage Lane) by Summer 2001.
