Bond hits 756

I feel that if you compare stats for A-Rod I think you will see he has Bonds beaten at the same point in his career. Remember A-Rod didn't start until 96 I think. I don't blame Bonds...... I blame MLB for standing by allowing it to happen. Just because someone hits the most HRs, it doesn't make him the best current OVERALL baseball player. It just makes him the player with the most HRs! By the way it is just my opinion and you can have yours.

A-Rod is a great player and I'm a fan of him, but I wouldn't call him the best; I still gotta stick with Bonds for the last 25 years. For the last 5-10 years, you could make a case for A-Rod. Also, when you hear players claim that Bonds is the best player they have ever seen play the game, that helps him stake the claim.

It is opinionated and I can't blame you for your choice. At least you didn't pick someone from the R-Sox.:)

ETA: Although Bonds has the most career HR's, I would still call Aaron the greatest HR hitter of all-time. Just because he has the most does not mean he is the best.

I just think to be the best player you have to have more then the MOST HRs to your credit. And I would have to agrees with you on Aaron.

By the way I am truly only a Yankee fan by default.... the kid loves them and I have to watch and goto the games and gotta say I enjoy watching the Redsox beat the Yanks.:sohappy: I have watched and liked A-Rod from back in Seattle and Texas.

Trust me, it's more than just the HR's with Bonds. Look at all his numbers--he is a career 5-star category player, 7 MVP awards, great on defense, pitchers are scared of him. The only thing he hasn't done is win a World Series.

Compare to A-Rod .. you can say pretty much the same. Except he has played 10 years less I think and therefore has less MVPs. Would be interesting to compare A-Rods 11 yr stats with any 11yrs of Bonds. And I always gotta be harder on in-field positions than out-field as far as defense, but thats me.

And I believe that A-Rod will one day break Bonds' record and possibly end up with over 800 HR's.

Sorry it took so long to post this.

I finally dug out that ROOKIE card of Barry Bonds:
