I am a traditional buffet guy. The usual buffet choices. My wife would like to try Boma's but I am reluctant. Imagining the elephant ears, giraffe stew, etc. I know they have more, just kidding but for a guy who doesnt take a lot of chances on meals ( I figure I pay a lot for these meals so I want to make sure I am going to like it) what do you think? Give it a go?

BOMA is definitely no risk. The sheer variety of items available makes it a good choice for any taste preference. I have eaten there many times and have not had a bad meal yet. Honestly, while the food is fabulous, it is not as "exotic" as people say.

Go Boma Go.

One of my favourite things at WDW is getting to try different cuisines that I wouldn't be able to back home, and I can count on one hand how many I've tried that I wouldn't try again, but as far as Boma goes,no way would I miss the chance, from the Seafood Gumbo to the Durban Chicken, mouth watering food. You won't be disappointed.:slurp:

There's plenty to eat there, even if you aren't trying to eat anything "exotic". I put that in quotes because the food there is not really all that exotic and kind of watered down to begin with.

But, at the carving station, just take the meat and don't put any of the sauces on it, if you're worried about it, for instance. If you don't do that, you're essentially just taking a piece of plain pork loin or beef.

Boma has no weird food. All of the meat choices are your standard beef, chicken and pork. The only thing that differs at Boma is the spice pallet. Many of the dishes have a hint of curry and a few other somewhat exotic spices.

Even if you find some of the food weird, there are dozens of choices. Anyone can find some things they like. If your wife wants to go, you should go, unless you think doing something nice for her would spoil her.

I can completely understand what you are saying. I too can be hesitant about different fares. Although, my wife and I had Boma for their breakfast buffet, and it was outstanding! We are going back our first morning this October! It had so many great selections and I think you would be pleased. Plus the juice they offer alone is one of our biggest reasons for going back! Enjoy!

We love Boma's! While my family tries new foods often, we brought my Father in law who is a steak and potatoes kind of guy, and he enjoyed it. The flat breads and soups are wonderful! There are some more "normal" types of foods, but my advice is always to try something new. The desserts alone are worth going! Try the zebra domes.

My husband LOVES Boma but I'm not a fan. It doesn't stop us from going every year. I do enjoy many of the salads and the desserts (of course) but, if your wife is up to it, go for sure.

If you are nervous about the food choices during dinner, why not try Boma for breakfast? I too am an extremely picky eater, so we opted for the breakfast at Boma, it is by far my FAVORITE breakfast buffet on property. I definitely recommend it!

I am picky picky eater. And I loved Boma!

Like someone else already did, I was going to suggest going for breakfast. I have to go to Boma every time I go. It's a beautiful resort/restaurant. The service is always absolutely wonderful and the food is traditional at breakfast with some African selections if you choose. You won't be disappointed.

I'm with everyone Boma is an excellent place for dinner, my son who eats only a very few foods (long story) was able to get french fries! Food is wonderful and service amazing. Plus you can wander around the gorgeous lobby of the AKL.

Boma

I have eaten here for dinner and breakfast buffet. Both were Delish. If you are not experimental you would be fine at either, but I would recommend breakfast. Breakfast is different options but nothing CRAZY. Rice crispier and waffles are available, but so is quinoa and different grains. Don't be shy....jump right in and savor the experience.:sohappy:

A trip to WDW is not complete without going to Boma, its amazing!!!! Best soups ever :slurp:

You can also ask for some items that are not on the buffet if you wish. When I was there a few weeks ago, many tables were ordering chicken fingers and fries too, to snack on.
