BOMA WATCH!

Yeah, it's open and family style right now. And the family style is basically just bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, waffles, and roasted potatoes (along with the standard pastries/bread) -- they have one additional unique dish and that's it. Still costs $42 a head, though!
Wow…I think I actually had that booked…

As @Sirwalterraleigh said above, it was a full spread without a character upcharge, and also always had several unique African offerings. There were more options there than at other most of the other breakfast buffets, even some of the ones with characters -- e.g., I know there was a lot more variety at Boma than at Crystal Palace. Everything also seemed freshly cooked there.

I've been told Tusker House at Animal Kingdom had essentially the same breakfast buffet, but it was character dining and cost $15+ more per person.
All great to know, thank you!

Yep Boma was kind of one of the last holdouts of the pre-DDP "we cook everything fresh" mentality. Hoping it stays this way now.

'Ohana removed the skewered shrimp with a vile concoction known as "Island Shrimp Casserole," which was more like shrimp floating in cheesewater.

Was Covid somehow the excuse? 🤣 Because even cheap shrimp can be made to taste good skewered and grilled... or does this cheesewater concoction use cocktail shrimp or something?

Now I just hope in 10 days I can get an ADR! We enjoy a late dinner at BOMA's on arrival day with a Kenya AA coffee to follow. It makes for a perfect ending for our non-park travel day. Oh yes, this is great news! Thanks for "watching" with me.

Has anyone been turned away at AKL parking with no reservation? We hardly ever ADR this, but it's impossible to predict crowds right now.

Since ADRs begin tomorrow, I'm hoping to make one for breakfast on my checkout day in October.
Do they open at 6AM or some random time during the day with a re-opening like this?

Update:
they opened up ADR’s at 6AM this morning.

The Golden Corral all u can eat breakfast with many more options at the entrance to Celebration can run a family $40 for 4 people.

I’m not big on table service meals at all, but even I’m excited about this one. Just got a breakfast reservation for Labor Day (check-out day for us). I’ve only eaten there once, but I remember being pleasantly surprised how much I liked it. 😁
