Boma or Jiko?

We have dined at both, and enjoyed them greatly.
Boma is a buffet and if you’re on the dining plan, 1 credit. The food was very good and we got to sample a lot of different things, Zebra domes are outstanding.
Jiko is signature dining and 2 credits; I thought much more quite/less commotion that Boma. The food was outstanding
With that said if I could only eat at one, and money/credits are not an issue and knowing what I know I would choose Jiko.

It is a pretty apples to oranges comparison. Boma is a buffet and Jiko is a signature dining restaurant. If money is not a factor I would go with Jiko.

Yea I know that I have always heard very good things about both so I am having trouble chosing.

Also my GF is a picky eater will Boma have more of a variety seeing that it is a buffet?

I've only eaten at Boma so far and my family loved it, even the picky ones. Since it's a buffet there is quite a bit to choose from. It may sound exotic, but if you look closely it's just a different name for everyday foods; the flavors are a bit different from normal, but very good. And you have to try the zebra domes!! :slurp:

Jiko has a great steak with mac n cheese that any one will eat. You can always ask them to altert the dish to her liking. IE...sause on the side or something like that. I would give it a try!!! I think its much better choice.

Actually you might be better off with Jiko. With Boma you are pretty much stuck with what they have and your girl friend might end up eating chicken fingers and mac n cheese. At Jiko they will go well above the call of duty to tailor a dish to your liking.

I've never had the pleasure of dining at Jiko, but Boma is our favorite place to eat in WDW. Part of the main appeal for us is the wide variety of different foods we get to sample there, which I suppose we wouldn't have at Jiko. (I should note, we're adventurous eaters, though I don't think Boma is really THAT adventurous.)

Hi Jinko is supposed to be signature dining. I heard of people flying in just to go to this restaurant (stars of course)!
I ate there one time with a bunch of people I didn't know really, we did the Safari at AKL. It was pretty good, I'm a vegetarian and the cook came out and made me a special dish because most of what was put out was meats. I thought that was really sweet.
I am going to be dining there on my next trip.
I think if I were you I would go with Jinko, you can try Boma for breakfast. Boma is good but if you are not into the buffet style I would stay away, it's get crowed and people can be rude also.

Take care hope that helps a bit.

We ate at Boma a couple of years ago and I thought it was really good. Not your typical buffet and if you want to try alot of various dishes then Boma is the place. I went in thinking that I wasnt going to enjoy it, because most of the items I had never tried let alone heard of, but I was wrong and it ended up being really good food!

My DW and I love them both... but they are too different to compare side by side. It really depends on what type of dining experience you're looking for and your budget. Boma is an all you want to eat pay one price buffet, and Jiko is a signature table service a la carte restaurant. You'll need to consider how much you have to spend or how many dining credits you want to use.

The food is wonderful at both and I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed with either one... It will just be a matter of preference as to what atmosphere you're in the mood for.

Enjoy.

As many have stated, it's hard to compare two very different dining styles and experiences.

With that said................for me....................Jiko is the best restaurant on WDW property, bar none.

It really depends on the experience you are looking for. If you and your party are more into a sit down around the table with a little flare I say go for Jiko. If you think you may have picky eaters or people in your party who have large appetites you may want to consider Boma since it is a buffet. Both are great choices, both have wonderful food I think you will enoy either experience.

Are you saying they do not allow the rude people to dine at Jiko??? Darn, I was really wanting to make a ressie there this trip. Thankfully there have been no snobby elitest people at Boma each time I have we have dined there. :D
