I saw the trailer when I went to see Wall-E. It looks amazing- I felt like I could reach out and touch Bolt's fur! I think it will be another of my favorites from Disney.

Now I usually get upset when people on here are like "ohh ____ looks stupid I just saw the trailer" and go ahead and call me a hypocrite but I honestly think Bolt looks stupid from the trailer. There was nothing funny in my opinion and from the little I heard it seemed like John Travolta's voice sounds lame in an animated movie. He sounded as enthusiastic as Handy Manny does.

Let's just think for a moment: As Disney fans, our current selections include a singing pampered Hollywood chihuahua, and a Hollywood dog with an "unlikely team."

Enough with the Hollywood, "big city", CGI-driven stuff, people. Originality would do a movie wonders.

It looks pretty generic. It doesn't necessarily look bad, but I doubt this is the movie that's going to put Disney Feature Animation back on the map.

Then again, I thought Kung Fu Panda was going to be stupid...and that turned out to be awesome!

Well I am loving the trailer. It doesn't seem generic to me. As far as pet movie go, I along with most people I know are pretty much obsessed with their animals so why not have a dog superhero? If a trailer gets me laughing, then I am in! - You have to admit that the Hamster is funny.

Hmm... not sure what to think of this one yet. It does have potential. Miley Cyrus's voiceover is going to be annoying! The story element of Bolt thinking he really is an action star kind of reminds me of Buzz Lightyear believing he is a space ranger. Those elements aside, all in all it was a decent trailer and I look forward to trying this movie out.

Here is an article from Jim Hill that has a couple of original concept artwork pieces. I think these images give the styling of the dog more originality....I think the current designs are something that are rather boring. Disney is normally supposed to be the company that breaks boundaries...these designs show me something that any other company making 3D animated features could come up with.

Here's another with more artwork....

I agree with this. It looks OK, but I didnt go "WOW" when I saw it. The hamster is my favorite part of the trailer but after that it seems pretty average. Its hard to judge from 2 min. of footage and most all the pixar trailers made me not want to go see them, so I reserve judgment.

I think the cat had the best modeling job done on it...the hamster actually made me roll my eyes and give the silent "ugh".

It reminds me of most Disney movies and I figured it's part of their formula. One main character + one regular side kick + one additional character just for goofyness (sp?) = some kind of Disney movie.

I may be just overthinking things, but Chicken Little definitely comes to mind when I think of this formula...if you want...i can work on a more definitive list of secondary goofy characters from other Disney flicks.

I lost all interest after Lasseter booted Chris Sanders from the project. For me, it went from something that had real potential to just another run-of-the-mill, blah cartoon.

I too saw the trailer before WALL-E, and I was mixed. While Bolt did look funny and I did laugh out loud at some points, I think it could just blend in with the masses of CGI films being released today. I don't know, we'll see what happens. I may even see it.

I'm sorry, I'm demented, but I LOVE the hamster.
I guess I am too cause I laughed at - "I eat danger for breakfast."

My brother knows all about my slight (major!) Disney obsession so he forwarded me news about an upcoming panel at this conference, Comic Con. A didn't really know what it was so I looked around and found out there will be a panel devoted to Bolt. I am interested to see what the directors has to say about the movie. If only the Hamster could show up ; )

Guess I am the only Comic-Con fan...
They ended up showing 20 minutes of footage from the movie. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the actual show but I did find the interview from the panel online- hearing about the painterly technique for the animation sounded really cool!
