I'm expecting to hear the words "inclusion" and "diversity" in her first public statements.
Companywide…they have that down…

what they have not succeeded too much recently (company wide)…is in developing new stories and characters that are memorable in a “Disney” way…

and WDI has “not succeeded” recently in developing anything too interesting with the kinda charm that has made the parks what they are….and do it timely…and not blow more budget than the final product is worth…

…”get on that” 👍🏻

I've lived long enough to see that degenerate be praised, even though he brought about the modern Disney, and its greater focus on profitability and extracting every cent from guests.

Without Eisner, there'd be no Iger or Chapek.
I think you might be giving him too much credit…

the corporate “evolution” in companies such as this was inevitable…and it was dictated south of Canal St and along the National mall.

eisner was far from perfect…no doubt. He didn’t Handle the “evolution” you speak of and was there far too longer (as was the next chump)…

…but when you walk the grounds…almost nothing of worth came from Bob(s)…most came from management 1.0 and 2.0

every toad has warts…even with a spray tan

You can now lead Imagineering with just one year of experience at Disney. It's amazing how Disney just keeps making poor decisions.
Not really surprised by anything they do now. While Disney is good at creating immersive rides and attractions, they have gotten worse and worse on how to run a theme park. It's pretty bad when some Six Flags parks are run better.

Many of us who would land a job being able to create, shape, fix and build new attractions for a beloved legacy wouldn’t care about the money, we look at that budget and drule over it thinking what where going to do next with these parks, we be living the life in our favorite place doing all this for ourselves and entertaining others. That would be a true higher up imagineers pleasure, a true CEO’s pleasure to achieve their Disney dreams. Who needs money when you can be building up Disney all day, we’d just need a place to sleep right? These people live larger than Walt Disney would ever have dreamed of. Disney needs to be a Hobby and lifestyle, not a way to rack in money and the more life style employees and management they get the better the parks would be.

Ummm, those people have mouths to feed and rent to pay at home in Oviedo or Clermont so they won't do it for the "magic". That ship sailed many years ago and only lives on in the CP (Slave) program.

We don't know enough to say if it is a bad decision or not. The head of WDI isn't spending his or her time locked in a room thinking up ideas for new attractions, shows, and ships. They're leading project management and teams to do that. For all we know Barbara is an amazing leader. Let's give her some time.

Being an outsider is a strength and a weakness for the exact same reason, you don’t necessarily know why things are done the way they are. That’s great for questioning a broken process but it can also result in needed processes being discarded. The big issue though is trust. Is someone without experience going to have the trust to cut through the bloat? We’ve all heard the stories of Walt Disney Imagineering ignoring Ops.
